Aren’t they just the cutest couple? I could listen to them snipe at each other for hours.
But, what’s this book Eleanor wants? Could it have something to do with the discombobulationotron project? We’ll find out soon. Maybe.
In the meantime, I think we’ll pop over and see how our main characters are doing. Stay tuned.
“Manners are one aisle over.” Whew. Somebody call the burn ward.
I like the sign on the register. Actually, I like the register in general. Old-fashioned machinery like that has so much personality.
. 😉
Well that didn’t work. I need to work on my HTML tags more.
There’s more to it:
“Manners are one aisle over.”
“Splendid. And here I thought you didn’t have any.”
Trying to out-burn Eleanor is like going up against a fusion reaction.
with a flash light (or torch – for our Canadian/British friends).
Isn’t it sweet? There’s an antique store nearby with a beautiful old register for sale. I’d love to get it for my bookstore.
And yes, trying to out-snark Eleanor is like swordfighting with Mercutio. You might get a hit, but it’ll be by accident. And you’ll still lose.
Those two are so much fun to write when they’re together. I just want to throw them in a car and make them do a road trip.
From your mouth to…ah…um, your own ear.
Yeah, there’s be some great sparring and back and forth during that car ride, but I imagine Eleanor is the one who’d arrive at her desired destination in the end.
I adore deadpan-snark. And you’ve got it down cold, here. (another TV trope, b’god!)
Unfortunately for Reade, she trying too hard. Eleanor is one of those persons who can pick up on uncertainty in a heart beat. Eleanor never loses what she is going for while flirting.
on a side note: Does Anya or Reade smoke? it does not look like it.
Eleanor, Amy, Nelson, and Stephanie are the only smokers.
Unless you count cigars. Then there’s Toivo, Rad Sampson, and occasionally Prospero.
You put up a link! I am honored.
Now I REALLY need to finish getting through your archive. I feel a binge coming on.
Also I only JUST got the Phil Collins reference in the title.
Ah, you young people. Groovy Kind of Love was originally recorded by The Mindbenders, back in 1965.
I still think The Mindbenders is one of the greatest band names ever.
I wanted to replay the favor, and turn everyone on to the fun that is DadRockGirlPop. Check out the link to your right. You’ll love it!
I am mortified. But now that you mention it, it doesn’t sound like the type of song he would have written, anyway. Not enough drumming.
Thanks again for the shout-out 😉
