It’s difficult to not feel sorry for Anya, being an orphan and understanding the lack of structured or supportive parenting, and her desire to look after Jakob.
The saying “It’ll all end in tears” does seems to be creeping up on the horizon line but whether it’s tears of happiness, regret or sadness only time (and Charlie) will tell.

Again it’s an example of great storytelling that we as commentators have an investment in and sympathy with the characters and with the predicaments they are in. (Even if they are {fictionally} of their own making).

Edison may be really hurt, drunk out of her mind and needs to go; BUT she may not be wrong. Edison, being an expert in spinning a good story, I think she can tell a good line. Remember, Jacob was the one, who wanted to leave Eleanor’s place.
That’s a very astute observation.
Not gonna lie, their relationship still weirds me out big-time, but that last line of his? Ouch. I feel so bad for the kid. At least Anya cares about him, even if I still find her manner of doing so a bit…odd.
And boy howdy, somebody better get Edison to a toilet quick. I hope it’s just a bathroom trip and not a session of praying to the porcelain god.

Separation anxiety is a real and crippling condition common to foster kids, and Jacob is exhibiting the classic symptoms of it. It’s also fairly easy to fake, so we must ask “What does he stand to gain by staying with Anya instead of going with his friends?” It’s still dangerous to try to outguess Charlie, but I can’t for the life of me see any profit in faking.
In asking: What would Jacob gain? IMO sexual fulfillment. I suspect that Eleanor is/was very good in resisting any sexual hints from anyone not her equal or better. Jacob is not and underage to boot. It was driving him crazy and with Anya that is not the case. Strange that Jacob does not miss his Twin Sister at all. Since Anya is such a submissive person, Jacob will soon be the Alpha. One more thing, Jacob no longer feels comfortable with other teens.
His separation anxiety is real. It might be exaggerated, but he is a teenager, after all.
He misses Esther, but it just hasn’t come up in the comic. Also, he’s still seeing her every day.
Jacob will come around once he hangs out with the gang and sees how excited they are about going. It is only for a couple of weeks, after all.
I’m still waiting to learn why Stephanie is an aunt…
‘Cause Anya, after meeting with his dad, decided to keep Jacob, which makes her a (sort of) parent.
And, since Stephanie became Anya’s sister here, that would make her an aunt. Sort of.
Now that throws all sorts of problems into the mix!
Can Anya divorce herself from the sexual relationship to become a, seemingly, much needed substitute Mother or will that cause Jakob to rebel back into Eleanor’s ministrations.
Either way “The Plot Thickens”……which is kinda like how I like my gravy as well, but that’s another matter.
