Well, that came out better than expected. They still have a lot to work out, but it’s a start.
Ah, but will they get that hug? Or will something unexpected happen next time? And will there be a cameo? Stay tuned to find out!

08:15 UK time Monday.
Aaaaand Charlie just made my day!
Not going to say either one is perfect, both have pain, both have issues. But as a good man once said “Not all tears are bitter”.
Simon and Garfunkel’s “Mother and Child reunion” just hit my playlist
They might still sort it out. Beautiful page here…
And this, is why Edison is my favorite character. She might be a hot mess, but she is good people.
Edison never fails to cut through the BS…
Awwwww this hits me right in the family feels. Things may turn around yet. Oh I hope they do! Edison might not go about it the right way, but she loves her son.
Well, that’s much better, and hey, it may have been a rather unfortunate encounter at first, but I suppose it’s best to just clear the air. Honesty wins the day with this one. Let’s hope he really is ready to forgive her and that she won’t waste this chance to change their relationship for the better. Whatever happens next is sort of placed on both of them.
Beautiful page, Charlie. I’m still not thrilled by Edison’s whole approach to the thing, but if they can manage to work it out despite of everything said and done, I’m happy. And this page really is beautiful.
Thanks.
I know Edison was being manipulative, but she wanted to stop Dilbert, and calling his bluff was the easiest way. If she had been a little less drunk, she would’ve acted differently.
With that last panel I wanted to show how they were “on the same wavelength.” How, even though they hadn’t seen each other in 2 years, they still thought alike.
How that’ll play out in the near future is… well, you’ll see very soon.
It is interesting to note that James did the right thing by getting Alice out of there.
OT, this slower schedule suits you better Charlie. I like it.
James is a good guy.
Back when Phyl was alive, he was more than a chauffeur to her and to Edison. Rad Sampson was okay with it (he was off on adventures most of the time anyway).
But now that Edison has Larry, James has been careful to be just a chauffeur and a friend.
And the schedule is working out really well. Part of that is doing strips that don’t take as many hours to draw.
Well, to paraphrase Sir Winston: ‘This is not the end …but the end of the beginning.’ Both Edison and Dilbert have made a new start. Lets hope both can continue in growing.
