I thought it was time to take a break from the story and update the “The Players” page.
Let me know-too many people? Did I leave anything out? If you were a new reader, wondering what all this craziness means, what would you want to see? If you are a new reader, welcome aboard, and if you have any questions, please, ask away.
Coming soon-The Discombobulationotron Follies. We’ll see what happens when Larry and Stephanie open a gate to other realities. You may be surprised…
Oh Charlie I love Robespierre’s expression……………How do you do that!!
Same way I do most of the drawing-pencil, erase, pencil, erase some more, curse, pencil, erase, and then come up with something.
I go through erasers a lot faster than I do pencil lead.
Actually, Robespierre is pretty easy, and he (along with Reade Turner) is the most fun to draw.
So we’re officially in a new era now?
I guess you could say that. I’m focusing on more-or-less standalone stories.
Stories to answer some of the questions you all had when I “retired.”
Coming up, we’ll learn about…well, that’d be giving it away, wouldn’t it. I’m sure you’ll see come Monday.
…and Eleanor’s age isn’t listed. Hmmm.
[And before any of you start with the “you don’t ask a lady her age” bit, I say that Anya, Edison, AND Reade are far more ladylike and THEIR ages are listed. So there. 🙂 ]
I was lettering this page, and it was getting late, and I was tired. I did the Eleanor part and moved on. Then I realized that I hadn’t put her age.
But it works better that way. More in character.
Kismet.
I think it’s a pretty good idea to update the cast page, but I like that you’re keeping the old images too.
But why are their faces blank? Am I missing something?
I wanted to make them more iconic. It is kind of creepy, I admit. I think I’ll have to tweak the drawing a bit…
It’s their lack of faces that’s the most disturbing…
“I find your lack of face disturbing.”
I like it!
I do, too; I think it’s clever…
This is great! I’ve been hoping some of our other players would get a cast bio. I kinda like that you left out the faces.
Robespierre has a face, and i love how Edison is four bubbles drunk. 🙂
Everybody has their thing that defines their look. Drunk bubbles, glasses, stubble, and their hairstyle.
Except Robespierre. I just had to draw the whole li’l stinker.
Not only quite a menagerie of characters, but also their past selves too. It does take a while to learn the players, and sometimes re-reading older strips, but it’s not overwhelming.
I hope it’s not too overwhelming. There is a huge backstory going on, though.
Sometimes it’s all new to me, like with Nelson and Reade. I had no idea they grew up together until I started writing this last story arc.
Good call on adding a new cast page, Charlie. Alot of information on there, but it’s just the right amount to let new readers have a comfortable entry into the universe. This wonderfull mad universe.
Thanks, man. It is a wonderful mad place they all live in.
And deciding what information to put in and leave out is crazy too.
Dang it! I didn’t have room to mention Anya and clowns!
The 51st State of Jefferson!?!?!
Boy, this worlds back history will be ‘Verry Interesting’.
I wanted to set Groovy, Kinda in 1996, before the Internet changed everything. And I wanted lots of mountains and trees (’cause they’re pretty and fun to draw), so I stole the idea of the State of Jefferson and used it.
Jefferson is the part of Oregon and California that went independent.
I don’t know about the politics or anything. I just thought it was a fun idea.
The no-faces is weird, but the cast page is most welcome!
And I cannot get enough of Robespierre!
Hipopotamo No one can, which is why I use the ‘Lil Stinker in sketching practice.
Freshening up the cast page was good. Looks good. Now I just have to get caught up!
