Happy New Year!
And to start 2015 off right, the mighty Rulo Potamo, creator of the mighty M9 Girls, and I teamed up to bring you the first ever M9 Girls/Groovy, Kinda crossover comic!
So, to learn more about who these fine young superheroes are, you’ll just have to go over and check out M9 Girls.
Which is a clever way of giving you a swell new comic to read!
Yes! I love it!
I’ve been so curious about this thing you were planning, but this is too cool for words. Mind blown. I can’t wait to see where you two take us with this. And the designs are great. I love everything about this.
Thanks, man! High praise indeed, coming from the creator of the Greatest Cameo Storyline in Webcomic History.
We wanted to keep it a secret from our closest Underdog pals (like you) because we were kind of nervous about doing the whole thing. I’m so glad you liked it.
As to where the story is going, I think it’s safe to say that the silliness hasn’t quite ended.
Orrrr…..you could do this. As you know, this possibility never occurred to me. Once again you have jumped into N-space and come up with a surprise.
Dang, you’re good. 😀
Why, thank you kind sir!
I was a little worried that scifijoe might’ve given people that idea in the last strip.
Glad to be surprising!
I read the comment, and thought, “That would be cool, but we already saw that in the premature epilogue pages.” Then I went on my oblivious way.
I keep forgetting how many of your friends share some of your quirky sense of humor. 🙂
Thank You. However, I had just finished looking at that site.
I did not have a clue, so I said WTH, why not. I remembered all the chickens and the Turkey and I said lets go with the most unlikely character. When I saw no response to it, I figured I was close to the real thing and said nothing. This way I would say anything that Would give it away. I am getting good at guessing.
You’re very good at guessing!
I was going to reply, but I couldn’t without giving something away.
I’m glad you didn’t think I was ignoring you, scifijoe. I look forward to your comments on Groovy, Kinda.
And yours, as well, and, of course, you too.
That’s what I thought. Thanks.
For Larry: ‘If it weren’t for Bad Luck, I’d have No Luck at all. . ‘*
in meeting new and unknown people.**
* from ‘Hee Haw’
** except Edison.
Oh man, this is perfect! I love Pato’s reaction to this and poor Larry looks almost resigned to his fate of being punched in the face.
“It’s not what it looks like, I swear!”
“Yeah right, what do think this is, some kinda ecchi anime or something?”
It’s also kind of heartwarming that Stephanie’s first question is where they know brain surgery. What a sweetheart she is!
Stephanie is such a sweetie. The problem is that, without Eleanor, two of the most socially inept characters are left to meet people from other dimensions.
Eleanor wouldn’t’ve poked her head right into someone’s dressing room. Say what you will about her, she does know how to handle people.
And Stephanie could stop Pato from punching Larry at any time. She’s that fast. Unless it would put poor Robie in danger, of course.
A very fast person versus a teleporter fight would be as exciting as watching a D&D grappling battle live.
It was really unlucky that our socially inept characters stepped into the dressing room when the Girl with the shortest fuse is there!
Not to mention the half dressed Girl! If it had been Eleanor in the doorway (she would’ve stayed a discreet distance back) and say, Any on the other side, then things would have gone a lot smoother.
And so the walls between realities get thinner and thinner. I should’ve known, it happens when you’re a Webcomic Underdog long enough. I expect to be visited by the Girls at some point in the near future, in or out of my comic.
You’re right as usual, Neil. Once the Underdogs started hanging out together, cameos and crossovers were a natural.
Which raises the question: Who are all these people in the cameos? Crossovers, or mirror images of characters from other realities?
I’m having lots of fun with this. Glad to have this initial positive reaction. And yes Neil, this is going to be canon on both comics, though this happens in the future continuity for the M9 Girls. It would be fun when our comics eventually cross!
It’ll be canon in the Groovy, Kinda world. Once the storyline runs its course, there may be a few epilogues. We haven’t seen the last of the Girls or their world.
I’m getting crossover fever now.
I know how you feel. I’m having a blast with this.
I think the two most important things to have are compatible characters, and a writing partner who’s creative and professional. Collaboration takes a lot of give and take, and it really helps to have someone who’s a lot of fun to work with, too. I got very lucky my first time out. Rulo spoiled me for other creators.
Though we were playing with some ideas with someone last night…
