No matter how cranky this jealous and wrathful god gets, he’s not going to take it out on poor Stephanie. Not after last time. *
It’s not like Toivo’s stunning beauty hasn’t been commented on before.
Poor Prospero. Will he and Toivo have a fight? Will he and Mancanilla have one? Ah, you’ll find out in a couple of days!
Oh, and-surprise!-there’s a surprise. No, you’ll just have to wait and see.
*Last time was in April of 2014, almost a year ago. I really need to speed things along. On the other hand, I’m having a lot of fun with this storyline, and I hope you are too.
No you don’t have to speed things up, you’re doing just fine.
Thank you. We joke about the slow pace of Webcomic Time here at Groovy, Kinda. As long as we’re all enjoying the ride…
Yes, quality over quantity.
I am still snickering over Tovio’s freshly-shaven face and Mancanilla’s week-old stubble looking identical. 🙂
Actually, if you look closely, you can see that Mancanilla is the one who shaved today. He’s got the hoop earrings, while Toivo has posts.
And I knew I had to put that gag in. I’m glad you liked it!
Missed the earrings. I was going by their relative proximity to Prospero. Apparently they were doing a swing-your-partner squaredance step as they discussed matters tonsorial. 😀
I’m not surprised you felt compelled. Who could resist such a golden comedic opportunity? 🙂
Tovio was BORN with a five o-clock shadow.
And I want a “Tome of Kittens” spell book. Defense against the dark arts, right?
Defense against almost everything bad! Or, at least, it helps deal with anything bad.
It’s quite possible that he was born with that. I don’t know much about Neandertal babies.
…of COURSE Lyssa is playing as a chicken wizard. It’s too perfect to be any other way.
I’m no expert on games like this, but I’m pretty sure it’s poor etiquette for a DM to take things out on his players. Come on man, have a little class.
She didn’t start out as a chicken, nor did she have a smoking hat or a cloven hoof or a tentacle. Jealous and wrathful god…
And yes, it’s very unprofessional to let your private life interfere with your DMing.
I didn’t get that at first because I’m not a gamer.
Thank the gods for the comments sometimes…
Interesting that poor Larry seems to have taken the brunt of Prospero’s ire. Or maybe he can’t take an imaginary punch like Lyssa?
Judging from what I can see of Lyssa’s expression (hard to read a chicken-face, really) she’s looking a bit stunned by Prospero’s reaction.
I feel for Prospero. I’m sure he could have come to grips with the idea of there being TWO Toivos (more to love, from his perspective) but it appears that the fascination of self-love has caused them to shunt him completely aside – at least for the moment. Hopefully Toivo will … who am I kidding? If there’s anyone out there as oblivious to social cues as Toivo, I’ve never seen them. Oh, wait. There’s Mancanilla. Yeah…. that’s going to be helpful.
Sigh. I can only pray that someone clouts Toivo with a clue-by-four before it’s too late. He’s seen jealousy before (remember when Prospero first met Edison?) but he didn’t seem to understand it then, either.
I’m assuming that this is supposed to be a short visit – but I’m not sure why I think so. I don’t know Lyssa’s story so I have no idea what she would have to go back to, should she go through the discombobulationatron again. Does she have any desire to return to her pirating ways or is she back to stay?
Ah, Tru, bless your heart. Almost all of your questions are going to be answered in the next strip. Especially your Lyssa questions. I can say no more.
Stunned is exactly the expression I was going for with Chicken Magic User Lyssa. Thank you for getting that! My expressions are never as good as I want them to be, and I’m so glad that that one communicated what I was after.
Hrmph! If your expressions are never as good as you want them to be, then I think your standards are just a trifle … exacting. Most of the time I think your expressions are PERFECT – but then again it’s possible that I’m just mis-reading every single one and you’re actually terrible at this whole drawing schtick….
No – I think I’ll stand by my original remark. Your expressions are perfect!
Thank you! If you can understand what I’m trying to say with the expressions, then I must be doing something right.
Well, somebody had to, and it wasn’t going to be Kittenzia, the Forest Protector.
Plus, Pyenor is a Barbarian, after all. He’s supposed to laugh in the face of danger.
