Well, that might make him think twice about wet williing someone while she sleeps. Don’t worry, they’ll let him out soon.
Told you I’d channel my inner Dan DeCarlo. His work with Betty & Veronica comics was a huge influence on my art.
Guess Edison’s explained most everything. Most. At least we know she won’t be drinking before her trip. After that..?
She’ll have a few other things to deal with before she leaves. One is getting some new outfits to wear.
The other(s)? You may have one question right now. Someone else does, and they’ll ask it next time.
Maybe I’m getting suspicious in my old age, but……
Panel three, I think you’re setting us up for something Charlie.
Something outta Left field.
(Heh Robespierre In the jar…classic.)
Well of COURSE he’s setting us up for something outta left field.
He just doesn’t know what, yet. Artistic inspiration is like that. Yeah, uh-huh, it is.
:Left field”, pffft. That’s so yesterday and two dimensional. Charlie will come at us from the FOURTH dimension, see if he doesn’t. ^^
Ai yi yi! As another Charles once said “Great Expectations!”
Guess I’d better polish up my crystal ball, redraw that pentagram on the floor, and set out a bowl of milk for the inspiration brownies.
I’ve always heard that the traditional startle reaction is “Fight or Flight”. I’m not sure where “Canning the Miscreant” fits in…
And as far as her son’s expression goes, I think that “Stunned Incredulity” is the most likely first phase. 🙂
Edison’s first reaction would’ve been “Grab the Li’l Stinker and throw him somewhere.” Fortunately, she couldn’t hit the window.
“Canning the Miscreant” would’ve been a good title!
Poor Robie. Trapped in that canning jar. Looks like he’s in a jam. Or a pickle. That Edison was really on the Ball. Nice to know she Kerrs enough to show tough love.
I was going for joy on Dilbert’s face. That would be his second reaction after “Stunned Incredulity.”
Philo’s is “wow! What a looker!” Soon to be followed by “how did I let her get away?”
Then again, this is not the first time she’s promised to get sober, and sadly won’t be the last, no matter what her child, lover, friend, or adjacent genetically engineered squid thing might say.
All too true, Young Neil (sorry, couldn’t resist). She’s snuck out of rehab back in her hometown, and she and Phyl went through rehab together-and we saw how well that worked out.
She does have the futuristic technology of HMS Iolanthe, Captain Eleanor, and Space Victoria to dry her out.
It’s the staying dry that’s the big issue.
Someone who says how wonderful getting squiffy is doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence, does it?
Still, life is full of surprises.
Yeah, I’m not quite sure I’m buying it. We’ve all known Edison for a while now, and she always goes back, one way or the other. Still she’s never had the future tech treatment before. We’ll see I guess.
And oh how I wish there was a way to “burn the hangover right out”. If there was, I’d still be drinking more than a beer every few weeks.
