The Mighty Rosemary Pipkin (Edison’s real name) is back! And wearing glasses, no less. What’s up with that, you may ask?
It might have something to do with this. That’s right, Edison Lighthouse is also a character in Dick Tracy! Thank you again, Mike Curtis, wonderful writer of my latest addiction. Seriously, you should check it out. Especially the current storyline. It may-spoiler alert-affect the Dick Tracy Minite Mystery that I’m currently working on.
I apologize for the long time between strips. I’ve been doing the Dick Tracy strip, and I have a crossover to get working on ASAP. Which also means you’re in for a Valentine’s Day treat!
Meanwhile, Rosemary has dyed her hair and donned glasses. And is Rad flirting with her?
Good thing he doesn’t know about Larry’s past with his wife.
More on this story as it develops.
Coming soon: Larry is distracted, Stephanie is distraught, and Eleanor is dis close to killing everyone in the room (except Stephanie, ’cause she could never bring herself to hurt her).
UPDATE: Got a wonderful Valentine’s Day present from the amazing creator of the wonderful comic, Silent Kelpie Spirit! I’ll share it with you on, well, Valentine’s Day.
Oh, and I did a Valentine’s Day present too. I’ll post a link when it goes up.
AND my buddy Neil Kapit, he of The Ruby Nation and We Are the Wyrecats (awesome comics, both), has premiered a new comic! And it’s a doozy. Minnie & Max, Monster Girl Detectives is just as cool as it sounds. Fun, funny, and well, see for yourself.
But wait, there’s more: That as yet un-named young lady is none other than… well, you’ll just have to read it to find out.
Welcome back. We’ve missed you.
Thank you! And I missed you, my friend.
I’ll try to keep to as regular a schedule as time and life permit.
Time and Life and Look and… Oh, never mind. I’ll think of something clever tomorrow.
Take your Time, Pops. Maybe by this weekend? I’ll look forward to your Saturday Evening Post.
*snerk*
Hoist with my own petard!
Hee-hee!
It’s an interesting life when your secret identity is your real name…
I’m pretty sure a wacky twist like this is something only you could pull off, Charlie. ^^
And which came first, the henchman’s name or your ivolvement? Cameo, perchance? 🙂
I hadn’t thought of it that way, D-v. You’re right, her secret identity is her real identity. Of course, when she reaches her destination, her real identity, not her secret real identity, will be her real identity which is a secret identity from… the mind boggles.
I think the henchman’s name and Edison Lighthouse came at the same time, after Mike and I started talking. But Joe Staton’s never seen me (that I know of) so that Charlie looks nothing like me. I’ve never look that good in a mask like that.
Hmmm, it looks to me as if the character was given a Dick Tracy style jaw as an added bonus. I’m going to stick with “cameo” ^^
At least the name is right. ^^
But you haven’t seen her yet!
I was talking about the henchman. Let me know when Edison Lighthouse shows up in Dick Tracy and I may call out another cameo. ^^
“Love grows where our Rosemary goes…”
The one hit by Edison Lighthouse, with the same lead singer as the Pipkins.
That’s right! That’s right! I’m sad and blue
‘Cause I can’t do the boogaloo…
“Ya wanna make an old man happy…”
Shame that kids these days won’t get the Arte Johnson/Laugh-In reference in that voice. But then again, when are they ever gonna hear “Gimme Dat Ding?”
Have you ever considered a Patreon page? The mind reels it the thought of images of Edison, Stephanie and Larry frolicking together, Anya frolicking with half of the main cast and so on, cheesecake images of Steffanie or Anya, beefcake of Larry or Toivo. Unless, of course, you don’t care for NSFW illustrations.
Examples: Jeph Jacques of QuestionableContent removes censor bars and censor scenery, along with giving advance views of the next day’s cartoon.
Krazy Krow of Spinnerette fame posts original art only some of which is NSFW.
Just a suggestion
And a good, and potentially profitable one too, my friend!
I’ve thought about it. The only thing in my way is lack of time (or discipline). Right now, Groovy, Kinda (and Dick Tracy, and a Valentine’s crossover) takes up all my precious time.
Cheeky pictures of Larry and Edison and Stephanie might happen someday…
Oh, I’m not afraid of NSFW. Look up a little thing we call Utopia, Unlimited.
She looks so different with those glasses, man. Like a completely new character almost.
