I’m sure you’re thinking what I’m thinking: If Eleanor wants to get these two together, what’s she gonna do about the recently divorced Edison?
Discuss.
I know I promised you a look at our gang at work, but it just didn’t work out (pun intended, or something). Sorry.
And, if you’ve ever wondered why Anya doesn’t play Kittens ‘n Catacombs, well, the answer is coming next week. It will also have what may be the scariest thing that isn’t Robespierre with a blowtorch.
And, that strip’s almost done, so it’s gonna be on time!
I mean, this is 2020. What could possibly go wrong?
It’s always an honor to be a guest in a Groovy, Kinda strip! <3 Also, does Eleanor really thing Edison will give up without a fight? I hear she's got a mean right hook.
It’s always a treat to put cameos in Groovy, Kinda. Especially when it’s one of my all-time-favorite characters.
An Eleanor/Edison cat-fight? Oh, that would be something to see. Neither one of them would fight fair, that’s for sure.
It’s impressive how Soft Eleanor is such a manipulator, even when she says the quiet part loud. She’s got her work cut out for her on this one, though. Great cameos too.
Thanks, brother. I love how you call her “SOft Eleanor.” It just fits, doesn’t it? She never does anything the hard way.
She may have an offer that Edison will find it difficult to resist…
Their world does not have Co-marriage?
It actually does. In the strip set 20 years in the future, it was implied that Larry, Stephanie, and Edison were married.
But Chuckleslovakia is a very conservative country, and the idea that Anya Langerak, their long-lost twin princess, would be married to more than one person would not go down well.
I would hope at least a couple people in this building are strictly monogamous, but I’m not quite sure who they’d be…
Hmmm… let me think…
Well, Lyssa Strada and Allen the pirate. Toivo and Geoffrey, until Toivo’s pirate double showed up. Is it monogamy if you frolic with two of the same person?
Maybe Stephanie? She only frolics with Edison and Larry. That’s sort of monogamous, isn’t it? And Larry only frolics with Edison and Stephanie. So far he’s not been very receptive to the idea of frolicking with Anya. We’ll see how successful he is at that.
Reade and Nelson, if you don’t count the orgy at Eleanor’s. Same for Miranda and Caliban. Agnes, Philo Pipkin (Edison’s ex)’s girlfriend, is monogamous.
Edison, no. Eleanor, heck no.
Stephanie is trivalent, Larry is tryvalent, and Robie is hexapodaceously monastic until another of his kind turns up in a box of take-out.
And Eleanor is tryanything once.
Oh Pops, don’t even think of suggesting another hexapod for Robie! Just the thought of drawing those two lovin’ touchin’ squeezin’ exhausts me.
Though you do bring up a good question: Why hasn’t anyone investigated the take-out place where Robie came from?
That thought actually flitted across my mind as I was typing! (It must have swerved into the mental bug zapper.) The take-out place is an innocent middle-man, no doubt, but they’d know where they got their shipment of seafood from.
But who would have the resources (and impetus to use them) to do the back-tracing at this point? It’s not like there are lots of mysterious agencies at work in the background of CharlieWorld or anything….
If Simon was still in the Groovyverse, he would’ve started asking questions and poking around. Larry and Edison would’ve told him where they found the Li’l Stinker, of course.
So far, Rad Sampson is too busy, and no one else seems to have wanted to follow up.
But yes, there are some organizations who might be interested. Heaven help us if the Brungarians get interested…
Eleanor, honey, I’d almost be inclined to call you an incurable romantic if I didn’t know any better.
