Something a little different this time. Occasionally a portion of the story will come out in 3, 4, or 5 panels, so rather than do a whole page full of big panels (with lots of time-consuming backgrounds) I’ll just do a one line strip. You’ll be seeing more and more of these in the future.
I like them. They’re short and to the point, and, every now and then they’re funny. They also take a lot less time to draw. A full page takes about 8-12 hours to draw and letter, whereas I can do a 4 panel strip in a few hours.
This is important, because soon I’ll have to publish new strips on a M-W-F schedule if I’m to keep up. I hate to do it, but there it is.
Meanwhile, thanks for sticking around, and I hope you like the comic!
Is that a nip slip in the last panel??
Nope, just a goof-up on the stippling. Not a nip-slip, merely a stip-trip.
I’ve heard of 6-packs… but a “10-pack?”
Man, is he RIPPED!
Hey, what can I say? I was still out of practice back then.
When I started GK, I hadn’t drawn much for about 5 years. It took a while to get back up to speed on some things.
Many years ago I gave up drawing because it took me hours to draw anything… whereas anyone else I checked with could draw things in a matter of minutes. It was very disheartening.
A while back I also took a shot at a webcomic, but I was doing the writing and had someone else doing the art. On the upside, it only took me about 10 minutes to do my part of the process. On the downside, the artist bailed on me after 30 or so pages. =/
Was nice while it lasted, I guess.
Lesson to be learnt here : If I ever get back to making ANOTHER webcomic… I have to find a way to make pictures faster and more efficiently without resorting to copypasta.
Or, just do like I do. Draw, erase, draw some more, erase some more, come up with something, erase and draw, and then ink.
I’m not a fast artist either.
Is your webcomic still up? Can you post a link? I’d love to read it!
