Oh my.
Wondering just what brought this about? Well, you may learn more on Thursday. I say may, because it’s the strip that I couldn’t draw. It should work this time.
I’ll let you know how it goes. If it doesn’t work, then I’ll have some other groovy stuff to post. Stay tuned!
Awww, Robie looks so contented in the fluffy towel!
He may not like baths, but he loves the drying off.
OH BOY!
Now we have to wait for the other shoe to drop.
Which way is Anya becoming a Mom, roll on Wednesday.
(Nice work Charlie, great story path line)
Why is Anya so mad at Stephanie? Or am I misinterpreting her bold words and angry eyebrows?
She’s not actually mad. But…
She is upset. This is a big deal for her, and she’s not sure how it will go, keeping Jacob around.
And, you know when you drop a bomshell on people-“I am the Chosen One” or, whatever-you expect them to to react appropriately? Something along the lines of “‘gasp!’ So the Prophecy was true!”
Well, that doesn’t always work on Stephanie. And Larry, of course, has seen far crazier stuff.
In short, she’s a little upset that she didn’t get the reaction she was hoping for.
Plus, Anya tends to yell sometimes.
That makes sense. And certainly sounds like Anya 😀
Congratulations? Um…
This can go in so many ways. . .
1. What does telling Stephanie she’s an aunt have in common with
seeing Jacobs Dad.
2. Why the sad look on Anya’s face?
3. Is Jacob’s Dad an OBGYN doctor?
4. The good news: Edison is asleep. Her body needs it.
1. Something happened to convince Anya to keep Jacob.
2. Sorry. I was going more for worried/concerned. Still getting over the drawing block.
3. He’s Pastor Dubbleman.
4. Yes.
Whichever way she means it, It will put a MAJOR spike in Eleanor’s blackmail scheme.
With Charlie it’s always dangerous to put too much faith in hints, but Anya said “You’re an aunt”, not “You WILL BE an aunt”.
And apparently a Chucleslovakian accent is really close to a Northwest U.S. one, at least as far as the pronunciation of “aunt”. 🙂 (That’s how I pronounce it, too, btw) 😀
While Anya is Chuckleslovakian by birth, she was raised in America.
She said:”You’re an aunt” because she’s raising Jacob now, and will continue to do so. Nothing’s changed for the present. Just for the future. For now.
I meant that “You’re an aunt” would mean that she had gotten him away from Eleanor by establishing guardianship or adoption. “You will be an aunt ” would mean that Anya was pregnant. The pronunciation reference was about pronouncing the word “aunt” as “ant” or “awnt” which varies from region to region in the U.S.
And I was expecting you to leave us guessing a bit longer–it better fits your modus operandi. 🙂
I see what you mean about the choice of words (see melaredblu’s comment below). Good call.
Anya’s pronunciation is more like the Midwest-we flatten out every “a” we come across.
Oh, I still might have a few more surprises up my sleeve.
I’m counting on it. You have sleeves like a Mandarin’s robe.
Anya got married to Eleanor?
Eleanor will never marry anyone. Nobody is good enough for her.
Though, if you read “The Importance of Being Eleanor” you’ll see that Nelson would marry her in a second.
Until I read the comments, I thought she meant she was pregnant with Jacob’s child. I’m a chowderhead.
That being said, this is still a surprising turn of events! Knowing Stephanie though, I bet she’d be delighted at the idea of being an Aunt. This is going make Anya and Jacob’s relationship pretty weird(er), though.
You’re no chowderhead. It makes perfect sense.
See Delta-V’s comments above.
I hadn’t really thought about her getting pregnant with Jacob. It’s safe to say that that’s not going to happen (famous last words).
Stephanie is making a nice progression: Friend (Larry & Amy) to Sister (Anya) to Pet Owner (Robespierre) and now to Aunt. I think she’ll make a wonderful aunt.
If it makes you feel better, I made the same assumption.
Man, this is just like the Green Demon episode.
My apologies to everyone who thought Anya meant that she was pregnant. I need more sleep.
It’s more like the page “Roller Coasting” where we all jumped to the most salacious conclusion about Anya and Ms. Flintensteel. I’m not quite sure what that says about us as a group, but give us a chance, and we go right for the XXX option.
I guess you’re having as much luck determining which wrong conclusion we’re going to reach, as we have anticipating your next move. 😀
Hokay!! I forgive, Too bad jumping to conclusions does NOT burn a lot of calories. ;0
Well, Eleanor will surprised by this development, unless, she was at the same meeting. After all, Eleanor is the one who has (had) custody of the twins.
I thought she meant that she is Jacob’s mom…so my assumption was pretty off too. I don’t even know why I thought that.
Naw. This is Jacob’s mom.
It seems that the twins were better off with either Eleanor and Jacob with Anya, when you consider that their mom does not care.
This also explains why Eleanor was able to get custody.
