The one advantage of Ruby’s career as an underground counter-terrorist operative is that she doesn’t have to deal with most of the problems someone of her size would face trying to fit into normal society. Towering out of a ladies’ room stall is just one example. A lot of what I’m doing in Ruby Nation is leading up to dealing with that kind of theme; even if they win the war, can they win the peace?
Anyway, thank you again, and great to see Groovy Kinda getting its second wind.
One of many questions: Was Alice married, widowed and/or divorced when we first saw her? If she was married at that time Rose was doing her first heavy drinking, did she commit an affair? As far as I know neither Edison or her husband have not gotten a divorce.
Alice has a couple of bubbles, will both be smashed when they meet their kids.
Ruby looks great.
Alice was happily married when we saw her in the flashbacks.
Now? Ah well, that might be getting ahead of ourselves.
Edison left before she and Philo could talk about their marriage.
And, while Alice has a couple of bubbles, she’s better at keeping a level head when alcohol is around.
Well, Edison was doing stuff that Alice thought was destructive. And she knew that Edison wouldn’t even think about stopping until she hit “rock bottom.”
So, in her mind, telling Philo what was going on was her way of helping. She didn’t know that the word would get out and all hell would break loose.
I agree Edison needed (and still needs) help, but sabotage and self-righteousness is no way to help an alcoholic. I see some good intentions in there somewhere, but she seems pretty misguided.
That’s not Ruby, is it?
Shhh..don’t tell Neil (creator of The Ruby Nation). Let him discover her for himself.
eeeeeeeeeeee! Thank you!

I love how Alice talks about “helping” so unironically. Edison is being downright magnanimous.
Yep Alice seems kinda ‘pushy’.
Alice probably justifies herself with “good intentions” … And that brings one on a road to Hell. At least Edison is in the clouds.
In more ways than one!
The term “passive aggressive” comes to mind…

Edison’s “I forgive yoo” trumps Alice’s “I was trying to help you” perfectly…
I think Alice was expecting more of a fight.
Edison’s wisdom score seems to go up when she drinks sometimes.

Oh Hell Yeah. Charlie made a D&D reference…hee hee!
