Well, I’m certainly glad they could settle that so easily. Poor Robespierre. Ah well, he’ll be fine. He’s a tough li’l guy.
And Edison? Well, she’ll have a “talk” with Larry next. We’ll see how well that goes next time!

Edison was being a bit irresponsible to let him get shut in the freezer to begin with, but still, she’s got a point. Between the two of them, she’s much worse for the wear and while Robie may have gotten quite a scare, there was no serious harm done. That doesn’t mean Edison is right, but I understand how she must feel right now. As for Stephanie, she’s just worried sick and now that her fears have been pretty much confirmed, it looks like Larry is going to have to do an awful lot of damage control.
On a side note, what is Robie’s canon color? The two pieces of merch I saw were different colors. I imagine a bluish-green, but I thought I’d ask the source.
I always pictured Robie as being metamorphic like a cyanea octopus: http://video.nationalgeographic.com/video/octopus_cyanea_feeding
I haven’t seen any significant value differences in his color so far (I think he’s still coated with ice cream right now), and the merch is still in prototype stage. Oh, Chaaaarrrrleeeee, a little help here?
The li’l stinker is actually white with thousands of painstakingly placed black dots all over him.
Not really.
You’re all correct. He’s a bluish-green, not quite teal most of the time. If I could find My Camera That Always Disappears When I Need It, I could show you pictures of the two finished Robespierre’s that I have (and will put online someday).
Vas, he can change colors depending on his mood and surroundings.
And Delta-V, he is an off white, vanilla ice-cream coated hexapus at the moment.
Poor li’l guy. He really doesn’t like baths.
Um, is it the ice cream that’s making him sick, or is it the bath?
Somebody ate too much ice cream.
Yea!! Hexapus!!
At this point Edison’s liver must look like a wedge of Aged Swiss Cheese.
Pet vomit always makes me sad even when it’s self-induced. Edison has a point, but cute animals always win.
I want Groovy, Kinda to be a movie or tv show, if only to see people interacting with Robespierre.
More like a big hunk of bubbly ground beef, actually 😉

There is no way in the world that I am going to open that link.
I’ve seen enough of that in the old medical textbooks I have at the store.
Definitely TMI…
Oh it’s not that bad. Don’t be such a baby 😉
Of course, my tolerance for grossness got really, really high these past two years. Learning anatomy by dissection and performing prostate exams will do that to you.
Mine went up when I helped butcher a sheep. Then the chickens were easier.
Prostate exams, well try being on the receiving end. ‘Nuff said!
I’m not being a baby; I’m concerned mine looks at least as bad…
You remind me of something a fellow comic creator said. Stephanie was his favorite, but the more he drinks the more he likes Edison.
I feel the same way, which is why I was not happy with your reply to Cliff below…
Oh, she’ll be pretty n’ sexy again. She’s just hit a low point.
Just think of it as a learning experience for Robespierre…
Ah man, not the ice cream! But I think I’d have to agree with Edison that a black eye is worse than a short confinement in the freezer.
Has anyone noticed that Edison is remembering what all happened.
She has less than a week to get ready to go see her son.
This is NOT going to help.
She remembers this because it happened recently and it was one big event. It’s not like she went out drinking, got smashed, and woke up two days later in a circus trailer.
And the circus wasn’t even in town that week.
Well, I think I know how the pictures got messed up. Edison did it when she tried and eventually succeeded in standing up. Because she was in pain and probably could not see well, she stood and swaying every which way, her hand knocked the pictures off the wall on the way to the fridge.
That early freezer door has a stop that keeps it at 90 degrees. It may however be bent a little.
In one respect, I feel sorry for Edison, it really was not her fault.
Of course she remembers what happened; it still hurts…
I’ve noticed that although you usually draw Edison as a pretty attractive thirtysomething, lately when she is *REALLY* drunk, she seems to be rendered less flatteringly. Early in the series, even when she was sloppy drunk she was cute. Now, it seems, that isn’t always the case. Is this intentional, as Larry and the crew get to know her better? Is the “shine wearing off ” ?
Yes, and you’ve got a good eye.
Partly it’s because I can draw better, and partly because of the situations she’s getting drunk in. I’m trying to show her a little more through the other character’s eyes. If it’s a funny episode (like at Anya’s house) then I’ll try to make her cuter.
But this time I felt it’d be better to show her as a sloppy drunk. She was careless; she endangered Robespierre, and Stephanie’s mad at her. I wanted to have that come out in the art.
She’s still dressed sexy, but she’s not as cute or sexy as she is other times.
Yep she’s falling into the collapse, sloppy, couldn’t care state of dress.
I’m wondering if you’re setting up a “I’m so scared about seeing Dilbert” semi-denouement for her and Larry, if so Charlie, that’s some classy and accurate storytelling.
But would it be a denouement or just an excuse to justify more drinking?
Oh dear, Edison. You should’t argue with an artificial person while drunk. I doubt there’s anything she could say that would help her win this argument. She screwed up, plain and simple. I’m looking forward to seeing the aftermath in the cold, sober (if there is such a thing) light of day.

Welcome to the finest group of webcomic commenters on the Internet!
I don’t understand the people who are holding Edison responsible for this. Yes, she was drunk and it’s possible that this caused her to not notice Robespierre leaving her shoulder – but she might not have noticed when sober, either. He’s a pretty small critter. The upshot of it is – it was an accident – a potentially lethal one, but still not her fault. Hopefully he now knows to pay more attention before he does something like that again.
And I agree with Cliff, though the “cute” quotient has been rather erratic. In the last few weeks, though, she’s definitely looked less attractive – particularly in those groin-huggers. And the sodden nose and baggy eyes don’t help.
I’ve never been a drinker – not from any moral imperative, but because alcohol makes me queasy as hell. One wine cooler and I’m miserable. So I have a little trouble sometimes being in Edison’s corner. But it’s a webcomic, so no matter what she does, it’s whatever you need her (and the others) to do to serve the storyline. And so far I’ve been a more-than-satisfied customer. 🙂
However, I’m coming to find your clown avatar increasingly blergh. 😛
