Aha, this explains everything.
So, we saw Nelson way back in the first strip. He’s one of the original cast members from Blue Moon.
But who’s that coming out of the bar? Isn’t that..?

Haha – the fourth and fifth panels: Expectation vs. Reality.

Hey baby, he rocks that triangle like nobody can.
What fascinates me is that it’s visibly LARRY – but there’s no way I can conceive of him actually WEARING that facial expression. (The body is just … hmmm …)
So – kudos to you for being able to draw a character completely OUT of character, while still being true to the character. Astonishing, really.
Aw, thanks. I just tried to draw what Larry saw in his mind.
Larry and “rocker” just don’t quite fit together, do they?
Actually, I assumed that was what EDISON saw in her mind – since Larry is far more likely to think of himself rather “modestly.” Also, as I’ve continued to prowl forward through the archives, I find that the body you gifted him with isn’t actually all that exaggerated! Which I hadn’t really noticed until I had this one front and center in my head.
You know what? You’re right. It is Edison’s picture of her Larry.
I tried to give the guys in Groovy, Kinda, better bodies, just to buck the usual trend.
