Poor Larry (I say that a lot, don’t I?). It’s great to see Lyssa and Eleanor falling back into their old friendship, but now he has to explain his crazy life to her.
Apparently Stephanie can understand Caliban. Believing him is another story.
Just between you and me, Caliban has no desire to eat Robespierre right now. Let’s hope someone can convince Stephanie of that. Otherwise, someone could get hurt.
Speaking of really cool things, PhoenixRenaissance has cleverly slipped two Groovy, Kinda characters into the wonderful comic, “Life Less Ordinary!” Head on over, check it out, and catch up on another great comic.
Coming up-Valentine’s Day! And you know what that means. That’s right, another Underdog crossover! You’ll just have to wait and see what I get (I haven’t seen it yet)! In the meantime, stick around.
The dust still hasn’t settled on this little escapade.
Robie’s eyes are gonna pop right out of their sockets if Stephanie squeezes any harder.
I understand Caliban just fine – he’s saying (in the words of Tim Conway Jr.) “What the AAAAAAAIIIIIIIITCH????”
His exact words were “What’s Robespierre?” His thoughts were similar to Tim Conway’s.
Hey Stephanie, maybe don’t try to strangle Robie while you’re trying to protect him?
I do love his reaction to all this. Not much else to say when he’s missing the context, is there?
Like I mentioned back when she first met him-she’s like a big 4 year old with a kitten. Luckily he’s almost indestructible. At least as far as squeezing goes.
“They both are”; Eleanor, you are such a trouble-maker…
With a big grin…
I love Caliban’s face in Panel two (also Robespierre’s, but that goes without sayin’). It’s astonishing how you are able to show how confused he is just by removing the dimple and adding a slightly protruding lower lip – and given a furry face with no real nose or visible mouth, and pupil-less eyes, he sure does convey plenty of emotion!
We won’t bother to wonder how Stephanie knew what he looked like when she didn’t even know he existed.
Thank you! That may be my favorite Caliban face ever. He’s a real challenge.
As far as Stephanie goes, think of Green Demons as this world’s equivalent of Bigfoot, or Minotaurs. People know what they look like, even though they’ve never seen one in person.
I love the fact that Stephanie ASKED Caliban not to eat Robespierre.
So Both Lyssa and Eleanor have clocked Larry’s situation….EPIC
Stephanie’s going to be nice about it for as long as she can. She’s not the kind to threaten.
That Elenaor/Lyssa thing happened at almost the last minute. Suddenly Eleanor said “They both are” and it all snapped into place. I love it when that happens.
Well, that answers a question I’ve had for a while. Stephanie is taller than Caliban. Or myabe there’s some leg hydraulics involved, to emphasize her point. And poor Robie’s all freaked out. He shouldn’t have to worry, with his vigilant protector and all.
Stephanie’s taller than everyone…
