Well, that’s going better than it has a right to. But then again, these are both adults. And they really do care for one another.
Coming up next, Edison winds up and throws a curveball. And, since it’s Thursday in the Groovyverse, it’ll be time for the weekly Kittens and Catacombs game!
Fun Fact: That building in Panel One is from Antonio Saint’Elia’s Futurist City (Study for a Building (Theatre?) 1913). Astute readers and/or viewers of Robert Hughes’ The Shock of the New will remember it from Trouble in Utopia. If you haven’t seen it or read the book, I highly recommend searching them out.
And the brunette in the first panel?
Mmm… I’m gonna give someone else a chance to answer that first.
Looks like K. B. Spangler, or like her self-portrait twitter avatar at any rate.
Unless my eyes deceive me, I do believe the lady in the first panel is Nat Bateman from Here I Lie Awake. And the poster in the bottom corner depicts the sadistic sapient pencil that created her.
Have I mentioned that your cameos are just the best, Charlie?
Aw, thanks, pal. Yep, that’s Nat all right.
And this was an easy peasy cameo-I pretty much just copied one of your fine drawings.
In the Groovyverse where no kind deed is immune to japery, ’tis folly to be seen lunching with one’s ex in a place where everyone around you knows all the juicy details. 🙂
I can’t WAIT to see how this backfires! ^^
Well, Rivendale is a fairly big town, and Philo might know some out of the way places.
But yeah, it’s a dangerous game they’re playing. Agnes wouldn’t mind them having a late breakfast together, but anything more…
Now all we need is a freezeframe of that last shot to slowly fade to white while “Why Can’t We be Friends” plays.
That would actually be really cool.
