First rule of Magic: get the audience distracted.
Wow. This was a lot of the cast to draw. But it was worth it. Stephanie gets all the friends she can need!
So, I posted this one early, ’cause I’m gonna be busy tomorrow evening. My new shift is overnights, and I’ve been cast in another play (more on that as it unfolds), so things may get a little hectic around here. Never fear, I’ll get ’em done as fast as ever I can. Next week’s is ready, and it’s a doozy, as Edison and Larry sit at the bar and do what people who sit at bars together do. See you then!
I hope the barbecued ox wasn’t ruined in the mayhem — the foil should have protected it.
So much wonderful art to comment on here…. Especially Nelson’s EXTREMELY 70’s ensemble. I can FEEL the polyester!
I am somewhat disturbed by the line of what look like bullet holes from a panic-driven machine-gun up the wall behind Stephanie in panel one. Also by the appearance of Jakob in full orgy garb.
And made sad by the need to immediately replenish Edison’s drink. 🙁
I’m not kidding about the polyester – his shirt, especially. My mental fingertips can feel the thin, plasticky slickness of it.
And his jacket — a guy I knew wore that tux to senior prom in 1973.
Nice! I had a dark blue tuxedo with a pale blue shirt. With ruffles, of course. It was the 70s, after all.
I know what you mean. I had some shirts like that back in the day. In fact, I picked one up for a library event, and yep, it felt just like you remember. How we danced all night in those things is beyond me.
So maybe Edison is feeling a little eclipsed? That’s bad if she keeps adding to her gin tab…
She’s definitely gonna pay for this in the morning.
