Aaaaahhhhnnnndd…she’s back!
It’s the return of the Eleanor we all know and love. Full of sweetness and light and the milk of human kindness for her fellow man. Or humachinal and nanobot hexapod, as the case may be.
Speak softly and carry a big pipe wrench, she always says.
Wondering what Rad Sampson, President of Sampson Enterprises, is going to say about all these shenanigans? You’ll find out next time! Stay tuned!
Smashing!
Sorry, I couldn’t resist. But I do really like that glass-shattering panel. I think it might be one of the most dynamic shots I’ve seen from you.
My guess is Eleanor’s sudden urge to protect Robie might stem every so slightly from knowing that Stephanie getting mad could put a wrench in the works. Hence her putting a wrench in his works.
Thanks! I must say, I’m awfully proud of that panel. It’s the closest to “right” that I’ve gotten with an action panel in a long time.
Go back to “The Importance Of Being Eleanor” for my favorite “Eleanor smashes glass with a heavy object” scene.
“Wrench in the works”-haw!
She’s shutting Simon down for a lot of reasons-yes, an upset Stephanie could “put a wrench in the works.” Remember her warning about not upsetting the robot.
Also, she looks after her friends. Eleanor may not have much of a conscience, but she is protective of those she loves.
And there’s the whole “get to smash glass with a heavy object” thing.
CLASS!
Eleanor, just got some serious Karma points!
Tiger, got some claws comes to Family!
Was that CLASS, or GLASS, Mike?
Yeah. Do not cross the Eleanor line.
Of course, sometimes it’s hard to tell where the line is, or if it exists at all.
With my accent could be either.
Hold the Phone!
Whats the Silhouette in Panel Five?
Charlie you got some ‘splanin to do
It’s actually a smashed piece of equipment from panel two. After she hit the glass container, she hit that, and then the wrench slipped from her hands and went through the window and down onto Simon’s car.
Eleanor takes great pride in causing the most destruction with the least effort.
At least it’s not a Spaniard in the works…
In his own write.
Eleanor’s face in panel two – anger and effort. Brilliant! Wonder how much that wrench weighs!!? You’ve nailed it agin, Charlie. Well done.
Thank you! It weighs a lot. It wasn’t easy to lift, and as you can see, it’s even harder to hold onto.
That dame has some serious upper body strength.
Those wrenches aren’t light, as his poor car learned.
Yeah-she must’ve gotten that from the Shipbuilding Division of Sampson Enterprises.
And once you get something like that started, it’s pretty easy to break stuff. Trick is to put your whole body into it…
And Eleanor makes her point with blunt force trauma.
Being an inveterate videogamer, I can’t help but think of BioShock here. 🙂
Which we own, and can’t play on the computer. I need a better computing device. One that will handle Sims 4 and Total War Rome II.
Or maybe not. I’m distracted enough already.
Time spent videogaming is not deducted from your lifetime. 🙂
Make contact with your local high-end computer gaming enthusiasts (The computer repair guys know who they are.). These people upgrade at every opportunity, and the old not-very-used equipment often just sits there. These same people are often willing to sell these parts for reduced price and, as a bonus, share advice on upgrading your current machine. Some will even help you install the parts. Try it, what do you have to lose?
That is an excellent idea. I know a few people at the library who I can ask. Thank you for that, Delta-v!
Um, I just noticed some rather familiar names on the door…..
Simon may be a bit of a goofball, but he knows how to assemble the second cleverest, most talented, and handsomest team in Building 7. And remember, Building 7 is where all the crazy stuff gets done.
Well, there must be a chemical leak here, because my eyesight is blurring a bit…..
I wish I created a comic so I got a cameo.
I adore how you incorporate your brothers in Art into this work of love you make. So do they. 😀
Now you’ve got me thinking about how I could make such a thing happen…
And I love your new avatar!
Building Seven is full of weird people!
Awesome page! Love Eleanor’s attitude and the subtleness of her people skills. That window smashing scene… Man, you have to do video tutorials.
It’s easy, baby.
The curves of the swing were the trickiest part. Then pencil in the “Crash,” and all the glass shards to get them right. Then ink the whole thing over with about 4 different pens. Then stipple, because why not? Then shade the left hand side in with short lines that fade to white before touching the curve of the swing.
It only takes a couple-three hours, but boy, when it works…
I have to add my voice to the choir praising the glass shattering panel. It’s just the perfect way of doing it. Looks absolutely spectacular.
Poor Simon, though. I don’t think he meant anything by it. And good thing there wasn’t anyone on the parkinglot at the time. That wrench must have hit earth with the force of a small meteorite.
It hit Simon’s car…
Eleanor would say: “That poor pipe wrench! Fortunately, Simon’s car broke its fall.”
Gotta take care of one’s tools…
BTW, love “Whoopsie”…
Thanks! Yeah, Eleanor wrote that line. I was chuckling the whole time I drew it.
