In junior high (mid-’70s) I had a brown suit jacket that came with your choice of either matching brown slacks, or brown-and-burgundy plaid slacks. Both choices had bell-bottoms, of course.
I got the plaid, for reasons that escape me now. We were all sartorially crazed in the ’70s. HAD to have been something in the water that they never told us about — probably some hushed-up CIA experiment. Right??
In 1968 or 1969 my mom sewed me a pure polyester, tie-dyed pantsuit, with bell bottoms.
I loved that outfit.
That’s far groovier than my mint green, 3 piece polyester leisure suit I had in high school.
That is such an American-politician suit.

l like to think of it as exceptionally good taste.
Though I had a three piece polyester green suit that I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing these days…
