First off, a big “thank you” to Pops and Uncle Delta-V. I had written a couple versions of this strip, but something just wasn’t right about Dread Pirate Queen Eleanor.
At first she was angry. No, she’s too cool for that. Then she was wonderfully charming and horrifying, telling that poor guy that if Allen wasn’t okay, she’d “vivisect your entire family while you watch.”
And then you both had great ideas and I thought: “No, she’s more like Lord Flasheart from Black Adder or Ace Rimmer from Red Dwarf.
So there you are, and thank you!
My goodness, she certainly has an effect on Eleanor, doesn’t she?
Meanwhile, it looks like Allen will probably be okay. How is Lyssa gonna take this? We’ll find out in the next few strips!
And a big “thank you” in return for providing us all with such delightful reading!
“Soft Eleanor.” Heh.
Let’s hope nobody heard her utter that.
Yikes. I remember Pirate Queen Eleanor being a piece of work fron Blue Moon. She certainly hasn’t changed much. At least she didn’t outright murder Allen. Yay?
Oh, and sorry, Soft Eleanor. That name is going to stick.
“Soft Eleanor” is something Dread Pirate Queen Eleanor came up with. It was just there.
And yes, that name might just stick, and have repercussions in the future.
And Dread Pirate Queen Eleanor didn’t shoot poor Allen. She’d do a lot of nasty things to him, but kill him she wouldn’t.
Hey, come to think of it, isn’t he still married to her ward?
“Soft Eleanore”? Only by comparison.
I’d preen more aboit being an inspiration, but I’ve seen comic content refecting reader comments quite often-rather frequently, as a matter of fact.
It’s one of the (many) things I love about Groovy, Kinda. ^^
One of the (many) things I love about Groovy, Kinda, is people like you, and Pops, and Hjels, and Hippopotamo, and Neil, and melaredblu, and… the list goes on and on. We have the best commenters around, and I love you all.
Finally, someone Eleanor can truly love, another Eleanor.
You’d think so, but…
How do you take down Eleanor? With another Eleanor, of course!
