Oh that Eleanor. Generous to a fault. Though, technically speaking, since he killed the deer, that’s Allen’s heart she’s holding.
But then, Eleanor never let something like that slow her down.
Will Allen succumb? Will Eleanor succeed? Will they get the deer back for the barbeque?
And what will Lyssa say?
Have a swell weekend.
I’d make a joke about Eleanor killing Bambi’s mother, but clearly that’s a buck. So I guess she killed the Great Prince of the Forest’s mother’s cousin. That’s almost as childhood-traumatizing.
I can’t put my finger on it, but I suspect she may be feeling a draft.
You may not be able to put your finger on it, but she’s hoping Allen can.
That’s…… not his mother, it’s……….ah, er……… 🙁
His mother’s cousin, the Sort of Great Prince of the Forest. Or, in this case, the Late Sort of Great Prince of the Forest.
Missed the last few updates. Man, I need to catch up! Killer page. No pun intended. Well, maybe a little.
You meant it, Jessie. I know you only too well.
And thanks, man.
No one ever accused Eleanor of letting a little modesty stand in her way.
Or anything else, if she can help it.
Maybe that’s what the grenades are for.
I would definitely recall an episode with Stephanie Powers stripping down like that…
“The Girl From U.N.C.L.E.”
Though Allen is no Noel Harrison.
Oh wait-you’re talking about “Hart to Hart.” Jeeze, I’m old.
Then Allen is no Robert Wagner.
Didn’t think it was that big a leap from your witty-as-usual title to Stephanie Powers, but now I have to see if the atache case edition of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. that I bought my sweetie a few years ago also has the Girl from U.N.C.L.E. episodes.
That would be great. I haven’t seen “The Girl From U.N.C.L.E” since it originally aired.
Guess Alan is man enough, at least so far…
So far.
The “Ox” part? Well, we’ll see…
Now you’ve really got my attention…
Allen’s too.
Yeah, generous to a fault. Why, she’ll give you the shirt right off your back. ^^
Her shirt she’ll keep, whether she’s wearing it or not. 🙂
And make you thank her for her generosity.
“Didn’t I make you feel like you were the only man – yeah!
An’ didn’t I give you nearly everything that a woman possibly can ?
Honey, you know I did!
And each time I tell myself that I, well I think I’ve had enough,
But I’m gonna show you, baby, that a woman can be tough.
I want you to come on, come on, come on, come on and take it,
Take it!
Take another little piece of my heart now, baby!
Oh, oh, break it!
Break another little bit of my heart now, darling, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh, oh, have a!
Have another little piece of my heart now, baby,
You know you got it if it makes you feel good,
Oh, yes indeed.”
—“Piece of My Heart,” written by Bert Berns and Jerry Ragovoy, but most people remember it being sung by Janis Joplin.
It’s good to know that I wasn’t the only one who heard that song when I wrote that line.
Uh-oh. I know that 1000-yard stare. Eleanor is shows no mercy, in more ways than one. I know poor Allen’s had a run-in with his own Eleanor, but this time he may be outmatched.
Ah, we shall see what he shall see. I mean, we shall see what he’s hav-no, wait. Hold on…
It occurs to me that when one goes hunting one wears clothing suitable for hunting.
Why do I suspect that is exactly what Eleanor did..?
Your suspicions appear to be correct. She wore the blouse to hunt deer, but once the game was bagged, it was on to the next prey…
Uhm… is Allen Lyssa’s … er … significant other? Is he the father of the pending child?
Eleanor’s motivations are almost always murky – or, at a minimum, designed to cause distress, even when her ultimate intentions are good, a la that Hindenburger anniversary meal she arranged for Larry and Edison. So I’m wondering if she thinks she’s just “testing” Allen or if she’s out to wreck a relationship. Either way, I can only hope Allen tells her to go pound sand.
Yep. Allen is definitely the father of their child.
And Eleanor’s intentions? Well, if I can ever get this next strip finished, you’ll find out!
If you believe what she says, of course…
So she’s already cut out his heart literally. Will the figurative case follow?
