Hey! I made a new word! I was looking around for a synonym for “robot” in my 1946 Roget’s Thesaurus, and there wasn’t one. So I looked up mechanical, and found “machinal,” which is an old word for the same thing. Mashed ’em together, and that’s what Stephanie is.
Anyway, Big News time. If you see an ad to your left for Kickstarter, and it’s got a cool Webcomic Underdogs t-shirt on it, that means it’s for our very first ever print comic! A bunch of the Underdogs are going to be featured in a print comic that we’ll be selling next year. And, there’s going to be an exclusive Groovy, Kinda strip in there as well.
That’s why I’ve had to reduce the number of posts lately. I’m still working on the strip for the comic. So, thank you again for your patience, and we’ll be back on a regular schedule in a couple of weeks (I hope).
In the meantime, if you could find it in your heart to pop over to the Kickstarter and give us a hand, we’d appreciate it. There are a lot of nifty special thingies for patrons. Thank you in advance.
But wait, there’s more! Here’s some wonderful guest art, courtesy of the multi-talented Gual-Kun, creator of the fun comic “Doodling Around.” Be careful though-it’s very addicting.
Thanks, Gual-Kun. I love your attention to detail You got everything down to Edison’s earrings just right! I owe you. And, I’m going to steal some of your inking techniques.
Oh yes-Thursday, the gang gets down to brass tacks and starts figuring out what Eleanor’s really up to. I think you’ll be surprised. Stay tuned.
Gual-Kun’s art always makes me drool. So pretty.
Love the neologism! Toivo can be creepy, but he’s okay! 🙂
So is Steph a ‘humechinal’ or a ‘humachinal’? I’m a tad confused. Either way, it’s a much more clever word than ‘robot’ to describe Steph.
“Machinal” with an “a.” My fault. I fixed the spelling. Sheesh.
Can’t wait to get my filthy paws on that anthology book. All my favourites between two covers. I’ll see if I can get my local comic book store to take in a couple of them too.
