Ah, now they’re getting somewhere. Or they’re getting doughnuts, at least, and that’s always a good start.
So, what’s the plan? And why is Stephanie the only one who can carry it out? Do they dare trust such a sloppy eater?
We’ll find out next time!
Mmmmmm… doughnuts. Is there nothing they cannot do?
Truly, they are Nature’s most perfect food. There’s a bakery 6 doors down from my bookstore. I get the ones with fruit on them, ’cause they’re healthy that way.
“There’s this purple stuff inside. Purple is a fruit.”
Oooooh!
Yes Larry, you should have told her. You should have told all of us. Thanks for that.
I thought I knew what was going on with Robie two pages ago, but now I’m just completely lost. No idea where you’re going with this, but at least things are looking up. Stephanie’s even getting a bit of curl back into her hair.
When Eleanor pulled Stephanie into our reality through the Disconbobulationotron, Steph lost some things. I believe one of those is germane.
To be fair, Larry was excited and in a hurry. He didn’t know that Stephanie would misunderstand him. Plus, he got to do that nifty comic superhero pose.
Stephanie did lose a little more than just her memory when she came through the discombobulationotron.
Whether or not that was a bad thing will be revealed eventually.
Robot to nanobot? Not quite CPR but maybe electronic transfer? Charlie, you’ve got us guessing…you’re good. Have an extra doughnut.
Thank you, Anonymous, I believe I shall.
And I’ll tell you that you’re very close in your guess.
Oh, man. Thanks Charlie. I need a little hope right now. That last page was so beautiful and heartbreaking, I couldn’t even comment on it. Need to see Stephanie bounce back. And Robie. Agony seeing him like this.
It’s pretty painful to draw him like that too. I really want the old Robie back, reaching for someone’s food. Or whatever he can use for food, the li’l stinker.
I think Charlie is just torturing us ready for the Seasonal Surprize.
Damn He’s good at it!
Hmmm…a Seasonal Surprize? Like, drop a bombshell on Christmas?
Let me see what I can come up with.
Speaking of, I’m going to do a Secret Santa for another Underdog. I’ll post it when it’s finished (and after they see it, of course).
The plot, she definitely thickens…
Like a good pea soup!
This thread is making me hungry.
Um, Charlie, would this situation have anything to do with the dichotomy between Robespierre’s real nature and the nature which has been imputed to him? And would a metaphorical small coin be of assistance? (Loosely speaking)
For my thoughts? You’re too kind, Delta-v!
I don’t think it’s a dichotomy between his real nature and that which has been imputed to him. Without giving too much away, I will say that Robie is acting according to his nature.
Now, if that nature were different than in the reality from whence he came…well, I think I’ve said too much already.
“It’s not a (ahem) waste removal port…it’s a RECHARGE port!”
Okay, I get it. You’re referring to the old saw that “If every cloud has a silver lining, then every silver lining has a cloud”. Balance, the Yin-Yang, light and dark, positive and negative, up and down.
You’re giving us hope that bad things can get better. Well, all I can say is that it better happen before Edison finds out that her little charge has been carelessly dealt with by these Three…..I was going to say “Stooges”, but charity demands that I use ‘Perpetrators” instead. 🙂
If Robespierre really is gone, then Edison is going to blame Eleanor.
That could go nuclear very quickly. There’s no love lost between those two already.
Just so you know, Charlie, that was me. My brand new laptop kicked me off the page which deleted my comment–twice–and I was so intent on finishing before it happened again that I forgot to re- sign in. 🙁
I’ve really gotta learn how to use this dang thing.
It’s okay, Delta-v-I do it all the time on other sites too.
