Oh brother…here it comes…
Hey, there’s a very special, and possibly unsettling, cameo of the most adorable character in the Groovy, Kinda world over at I, Mummy! And a number of other great characters.
Go, now. It’s amazingly cool.

Nice to see that Eleanor follows what she preaches. She did love him in her fashion. Giving them the keys is good and now she will let them in on the secret. Have fun, kids.
I can’t say anything. I don’t want to give it away.
The Columbo moment … Monday cannot come soon enough. How do you shrink a weekend. Great strip, Charlie
Yes. “The Columbo Moment.” That’s perfect.
There’s always just one thing…
Is the “one more thing” that she gets to watch?
Aw Eleanor. You go from diabolical sex master to wise all knowing mother figure who’s still a sex master in the blink of an eye. Her character is so complex, so many layers! She’s always surprising me. And now Reade and Nelson will get some alone time to hash out their new relationship.
Maybe.
Eleanor ALWAYS has to win, at least in her own mind; even if the victory is small.
And she’ll count it as a win if the other person loses.
Eleanor’s always got something up her sleeve. Even when she has no sleeves, and especially when she has no shirt, I imagine.
Actually, I showed that in two comics. “XXXenophile Presents: Utopia, Unlimited.”
Eleanor was the captain of an interstellar exploring/trading ship. She had many opportunities to, ah, “go sleeveless.” And she always had an angle to play.
Because of course there is…
Love that first panel. The sheer amount of information it gives out, and what it tells you about the characters is incredible. So well done, Charlie.
Thank you. It was a lot of fun to show a younger, more innocent Eleanor.
Plus, she still loves Nelson, even if she won’t admit it.
If a picture is worth a thousand words………………….
Charlie once again you impress me with the sheer quality of your Art, not to mention the storytelling.
I really have to state that the early ‘innocent’ picture you’ve done of Eleanor with Nelson is just fantastic especially in comparison to the “Jaded” older version.
Thanks, Mike. I wanted to show that she’s not just a sweet, sexy, manipulative, amoral force of nature.
If you liked seeing the younger Eleanor, just wait till Monday!
This reminds me of the late, great Harry Chapin song: The Taxi.
Listen to it and see if this sets this scene quite nicely.
I would be interesting to include a link to the “I, Mummy” page, since as updates go, the reference will soon be lost forever.
Thank you for the attention!
Thank you for that excellent suggestion, Ivan. Done, and done!
And welcome to the Groovy, Kinda community!
Thank you for the bump. At this point I think most new visitors are Groovy, Kinda fans. Which is great.
Not only do they have good taste in comics, they’re the best commenters a comic could have!
The tastier the bait, the more deeply the hook is set. Eleanor is such a pro. 🙂
When Eleanor goes fishing, she prefers dynamite. But she also loves the take and take of playing a fish on the line…
Heh – I just noticed the phrasing “take and take” here – how perfectly that capsulizes Eleanor.
Every damn time you link to an earlier page, I follow the link and end up reading my way back to the present. Sneaky, you.
He-hee…
I do the same thing. “Oh, just one or two more strips…”
