Well, Stephanie sure had herself a good time. Wait till the phone calls start coming…
And poor Larry sounds like he wants someone to talk to about Edison.
Will Edison sober up tomorrow? Will we head back into space again?
That’s for the far future. Coming up next-someone made a boo-boo at the orgy, and someone’s not happy about it. You’ll see.
UPDATE: As you can see, there’s no new strip. I had an especially exhausting week at work. I’ll get back to it as soon as I can. Meanwhile, head on over to “We Are the Wyrecats” to catch a cool Groovy, Kinda cameo.
And, if you haven’t already, please see the farewell page I did for “M9 Girls.”
Sober? Well, if she isn’t, then she may lose any residual respect her son might have for her, and if she is, she’ll be hung-over and unpleasant to be around. Lose-lose. O.o
The hungover part may just be for a day (Day from Hell, to be sure). We’ll have to see how she deals with it when she wakes up later that day.
Will the family be enough to keep her on the straight and narrow?
“…gonna be sick…”
Not in Prospero’s hovercar, you aren’t! I bet Larry had to put certain vital organs in escrow to borrow those, um, hmmm, can’t call ’em wheels….
Not to mention what Lyssa (who is driving, and thus ultimately responsible) would do to him.
I’m sure hovercars would still be nicknamed “wheels.” After all, look at how we still video things, Xerox stuff, and dial phones, just to name a few.
Y’know, when you think about it, whether she’s driving or not, Lyssa does seem to be the ultimately responsible sort. Larry’s more the ultimately culpable sort.
English is such a marvelous language.
Exactly. Much as Eleanor acts as Boss/Ringleader of the gang, it’s ultimately Lyssa who takes responsibility and makes sure everyone has their lunch money and galoshes on. Which is one reason why she’s such a good Pirate Cap’n.
I know it’s a sickness and I know it’s hard to overcome. And I have my own addictions (food, mainly – and don’t forget computers) but….
She pisses me off when she falls.
Sigh.
I get that, Tru. Having spent time around addicts, I can understand where she’s at. But it’s still upsetting when it happens.
A relapse might just be enough to convince her to stay sober (at least for a while).
Not everyone who tries to quit makes it first time.
{plus I trust the author}
Hey Mike! It’s been too long, my friend!
And you’re right. This relapse might be a one-time thing.
And you’re right about the quitting. Sometimes it takes more than one try.
(trust the author? I should’ve though you’d’ve learned by now…)
Always visiting and (re-visiting) just been quiet in the background writing a novel (blatant hint to look it up on Amazon..Mike Dodds) and looking after 87 year old Disaster Monkey (Dad)
Writing a novel! Good on you! I shall indeed look it up, and purchase a copy.
And good for you for looking out for the Disaster Monkey. I shall be one myself, someday.
