Oh good, Prospero, Mancanilla, and Toivo have decid-wait, what?
Lyssa is pregnant? How did that happen?
Wait, we all know how that happened.
The $64,000 question is: How will Eleanor take this? And when will Larry figure it out?
Ah, you’ll see soon enough.
In some crazy way is Eleanor the father? Because that would be the perfect twist. I can’t believe Larry isn’t picking up on all this. 😀 Oh Larry, don’t ever lose that whimsical innocence of yours.
Well, whatever the truth is, you’re learning to think like Charlie. 🙂
And in order for Larry to pick up on that, he’d have to be Not-Larry. 😀
“…learning to think like Charlie…”
Now there’s a scary thought!
A Not-Larry would be fun. Open up the discombobulationotron and out comes the Not-Larry.
Kind of like Ace Rimmer in “Red Dwarf.”
“Smoke me a kipper, skipper. I’ll be back for breakfast.”
Nope. When you read Lyssa and the Pirates, you’ll know that Allen is the daddy.
Just ask Miranda. Not that she was keeping count…
Yay! I love this, given how Lyssa and the Pirates ended. Genuinely didn’t think that thread would be picked up again. This is cause for happiness. I really love what you’ve done with Lyssa, Charlie. She’s such a great character, and the thought of her sticking around is too much. Don’t go toying with my emotions, man. I just can’t take it, I can’t.
I’m now think I have to pick up a copy of Lyssa and the Pirates for myself!
It’s reeeeal good. 🙂
I think so too. I mean, that writer/artist-somehow his jokes still resonate with me, years later. It’s like he was writing the comic with my sense of humor in mind!
I’m glad you’re liking Lyssa. It’s been a long time since I’ve written her, and it’s like meeting an old friend all over again.
Can I just say how much I love that aside glance in panel 4? Almost as much as I love Larry being adorably oblivious.
Boy, what a Christmas party this is going to be…
Yeah her face in Panel Four FANTASTIC! The ball park’s getting a lot knocked out of it lately Charlie.
Lyssa, you got some ‘splaining to do
Mostly to Larry by the look of things.
Lyssa’s look is an homage to Betty and Veronica comics.
While I didn’t actually pull out one of my hundreds of B&V issues (yes, I have a lot of Betty and Veronica comics), I remembered many a time when Betty would give that look while Veronica was saying something crazy. It just fit so well.
I see that the Monkeemoaerolimo is still there. Is Larry driving it? O.o
Nope. Lyssa’s going to drive. Even though it’s been two years, she’s itching to get behind the wheel.
When I was working on the sequels to Lyssa and the Pirates, I was going to address the issue of Lyssa’s car.
A 1965 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport.
Lyssa and Anya like cars.
Does does Eleanor………The Importance of Being Eleanor proved that…or did it prove she just likes to drive fast.
Oh and I’m so reminded of the Lyssa & Eleanor kiss picture you shared waaay back. Put a smile on my face.
The difference is that Eleanor loves to drive, while Lyssa and Anya just love cars.
And I need to find that picture again. It’s from the never-published 3rd issue of “Utopia, Unlimited.”
I’ve been scanning the pages, so I may share some more pictures of Lt. Lyssa Strada from the spaceship H.M.S. Iolanthe.
Hell Yes!
I know there is so much more on this page that I should be commenting on. But, I really love that engine!
OH baby, thank you. I was hoping someone would mention that.
This was my homage to all those great hot rod magazines of my youth.
When I was a lad, I loved hot rods. My friends and I spent hours with our lightboxes, copying cars from “Super Stock” magazine, and “CarToons,” and “Hot Rod Cartoons.”
Plus, I really need to practice drawing chrome.
Co-incidence?
I used to draw stuff out of Custom Car magazine……..badly.
Usually during the first week of Summer holidays which always fell on my Dad’s night shift and I had to find a Quiet occupation while my mother was at work.
