Yikes! I’ve never seen him go limp before. It makes me sad to see him like that. If it weren’t for the epilogue, I’d worry that he might be dead.
Unless…the hexapus in the epilogue wasn’t the Robie we know and love…?

Stephanie’s lank hair is an emotional indicator that appears to be as involuntary as a blush or a gasp. Curled back for happy, lank for upset, static corona for “Somebody’s gonna DIE!”
We haven’t seen that hairstyle just yet. But we might in a few weeks time.
Hmmm. If he reacts that way to a 45% field, it argues against him surviving the 100% field of full operation, hence it was probably not how he got here–unless it’s a “Survive it once, but not twice” deal.
It’s a good thing they didn’t just fire up the discombobulationotron at 100% right off. Robespierre would’ve been scattered all over the room.
As it is, we don’t know if he’s all back together.
Interesting that Eleanor’s cigarettes reacted much like Robespierre. If the field has that effect on any cylindrical/tenticular items I’d be concerned about Larry & Steph’s innards.
I’m embarrassed to say that the cigarettes and ashtray are acting that way because Eleanor was hitting the “OFF” button on her control panel so hard, but every time I drew it it looked terrible.
Did he see it coming? He does seem to be clinging pretty hard to Stephanie’s hands in the second panel. Or is it just the excitement getting to him. He’s going to be fine though. Surely… You wouldn’t…

Drawing conventions sometimes confuse me. The way he’s completely splayed out in the “Aiee!” panel looks more like electric shock or something than being “taken apart.”

You’ve killed someone before, yes – but we, the audience, barely had time to care about Phyllis yet before you removed her from the stage. Robby, on the other hand – you might instigate a lynching if you delete him.
Don’t you love an accidental character that has grabbed the emotional involvement of your entire readership base? (Well, maybe not if it leads to a lynch-mob, I suppose…….)

Delta-V-Larry knows (now) that there’s some problem with the field leaking, or that there’s some lack of focus. If Robespierre isn’t dead, maybe he can fix that so it doesn’t happen again, or work out some shielding. Otherwise, the Li’l Stinker will have to be in the control room with Eleanor. Which would drive Amy crazy, because he creeps her out.
