What a crazy couple, huh? They just get along so well!
So, why is Reade inviting Edison for tea?
And why isn’t Reade at the barbeque? Couldn’t she get her employee to work? Or is there another reason?
And what brand of explosive does she use? And can Edison trust the tea?
Oh, so many questions!
Hey, that lovely lady on the candy store window is the star of one of my favorite comics, “Berrybelle.” You can find the link over there to your right. It’s a lot of fun, and I think you’ll really like it. Don’t take my word for it-it’s on Delta-v’s reading list as well!
The snark levels are off the charts! Good to see Reade and Edison once again.
I don’t think Robie likes his mode of transportation much.
Robie doesn’t like anything that keeps him from food.
Considering some of the mishaps that have befallen him it’s probably a good idea…
Exactly. It’s all comfort food to Robie.
Yup, I agree with Charlie about Berrybelle. ^^ And Tru showed up the other day, so you know it’s interesting. If you like off-beat (and,of course you do since you’re here), give it a look 🙂
I don’t know what Reade has in that bag, but Robie certainly wants to become better acquainted with whatever it is. 🙂
Reade is supposed to be at her store. It’s late Saturday morning-the best day of the week (at least it is at my bookstore).
But, since the kids are still off at camp (one week left!) she’s enjoying her freedom by snagging some takeaway.
And if you like adorable, you have to see the new character that Shalom just introduced in Berrybelle.
Charlie, frame four – I just LOVE your silhouettes!
Thanks, Chris!
That was one of the rare times where I just “saw” what the page should look like. I just had to make silhouettes. I’m glad you like ’em!
Oh the Snark, It Burns us precious.
As antagonists Reade and Edison are good sparring partners together, But Against Eleanor………..will they be Formidible enough?
That, my friend, is the $64,000 question.
A three-way snarkfest? The mind boggles!
Wow, coming out of their corners swinging, these two. Reade does parhaps have a point though. Has Edison been painting much since doing that nightmare image on page 335? Although GK time is fairly slow, I get the impression time has been progressing faster lately.
I really like Reade acknowledging Robie as a “sci-fi critter.”
That’s a great observation. No, she hasn’t painted in over a week. She’d better get cracking if she wants to make some money and pay for her own apartment.
I realize that you just brought that up because you want to see more clown paintings…
You know what area hasn’t been properly explored in the visual arts? Puppies. Adorable, big-eyed, non-terrifying puppies.
Puppies, eh? That’s a great idea! Terrifying clowns holding big eyed adorable puppies.
Let me see what Edison can come up with.
I think Reade must “power-up” on snark – I am not sure I’ve ever seen her in any other mode. 🙂
Charlie, you really nailed the Berrybelle cameo – looks just like her. I just poked your link to it a day or two ago and caught up with the current comic far too fast. It’s VERY weird and quite fun, so far.
Isn’t Berrybelle a treat?
Reade has been sincere from time to time. Really. Mostly when it comes to her kids.
I think we’ll see a “softer” side of her soon, though.
Love “press my pansies”…
Reade wrote that. Honestly.
I was going to have her say “Must be nice,” but it just didn’t have that Reade zing. And then, suddenly, “Press my pansies” popped up and I had to go with it.
Reade and Stephanie are the two characters who seem to write the most of their own dialogue.
You could cut the tension with a knife, but scrap that thought!
I’m not sure Robbie really likes the Beverly Hills treatment.
I anticipate a healthy dose of snarky exchanges for next page, and Robbie getting a grab of whatever is available at the bookstore.
Yeah, the last thing these two need are knives…
Robie’s a grabby li’l fella, isn’t he? He’s like a two year old, only he can get into smaller spaces.
I can’t promise you too much snark, but we’ll see. And Robie will definitely try to get his tentacles around something fun and/or edible.
You drew Berrybelle really well, Charlie. If I ever decide to go on a brief hiatus I know who I can ask to draw some pages 😉
I would be honored to do a guest strip for Berrybelle, Shalom. Thanks, man.
Though, even on my best days, I couldn’t get the color nearly as beautiful you do.
Now, if you ever wanted to do a guest strip, or some guest art…
Thanks C, guest strip or art would be awesome.
