Well, better late than never.
Thank goodness Jacob wasn’t home. Not only would he have been a little difficult for Anya to explain, but her house would’ve been a bit crowded.
UPDATE:
You may have noticed that this is the same comic. I need to finish my Comic Underdogs April Fool’s Day Switcheroo, so the next strip will also be late. I’m sorry.
On the other hand, I’ve seen my Switcheroo, and I know you’re going to love it. No foolin’.
Nice to see Eleanor off her balance for once. She’s just so good at playing the game, and controlling any situation, it’s sort of strange to see on her heels. Even if it did take a pirate ambush to do it.
Anya seems to be speaking to Lyssa about Eleanor, Lyssa’s fist is clenched and she’s looking down as she speaks to Eleanor….. I think Eleanor is on lot more than her heels.
I’m a little confused by the last panel.
Perhaps I’m sleepy, but what just happened?
Eleanor said some very nasty things to Lyssa and kicked her and Allen out of her house.
Anya is letting them stay with her until Eleanor cools down.
That’s what I suspected, but the front doors looked similar. So, at first I thought maybe they’d tied up Eleanor. Anyway, I do feel a tiny ounce of sympathy for Eleanor; she’s off her game.
To a pirate, salty language is friendly banter. But, once it gets personal and hurtful … ooh boy, “Et tu brute?”
Yeah, the front doors do look too much alike.
Tied up Eleanor? Well, Anya might, but not with other people around.
Eleanor’s had a busy, tiring week of it, and she’s underestimated Lyssa again. She’s just going to have to get used to the “new” Lyssa.
When she lets the “new” Lyssa back into her house.
Regardless of my view of Eleanor, I’m feeling a wee bit sorry for her – she’s had a rather bad few days, in spite of all her attempts to be her usual “I’m in charge here” self. She did admit to being terrified during the tumor discussion, which has to have rocked her self-image to start with.
When Lyssa showed up Eleanor was so HAPPY I was startled – but I think Lyssa isn’t fitting into her proper pigeonhole, and Eleanor’s not used to not having complete control over the people around her. (I think, anyway) So, having Lyssa just ride roughshod over Eleanor’s dismissal of Anya in her own house would have gotten right up her nose, sideways.
No wonder she said “some very nasty things.”
And LOL – just read the hover-text. 😀
Exactly. That was the straw in the ointment, or the fly that broke the camel’s back, so to speak.
I can see why that house exterior panel was eating at you, but man, did it turn out fantastic! You’re amazingly good at architecture, you know. Along with a lot of other things.
Speaking of other things, it’s always a joy to see somebody one-up Eleanor. I find myself liking Lyssa more and more with each page!
As a silent observer of the exterior front of the house, I think it was worth the wait.
We all love to hate Eleanor sometimes, still, she is probably getting to learn to live with other people…
Congrats on the page Charlie and we are looking forward to what happens next, including the Switcharoo
Ahh, the Switcharoo, but with who? The world wonders.
Oh yes, I have a page over at Deviant Art that shows what I like to do. Same name.
I checked out your page, scifijoe, and that’s some sweet model work! I love that Kimminator 1.
You and Dragonsreach should compare notes.
hi, I am working on both the 1/72 Kimminator, (it is fighting back) and am much further along on the It’s Possible Jet. I will be posting some new photos tomorrow. Eleanor may be sick but she can still bite.
That may be a good idea. Meeting with Dragonsreach, except how? Could you PM me with his email address. Thanks,
Oh yes, I have posted more stuff at Deviant Art.
Probably the most affable context in which “taken over by pirates” has ever been spoken
