Uh-oh. Eleanor has something up her sleeve, figuratively speaking. But what?
Well, happy Monday! After the fiasco at Anya’s place (remember that?) Larry’s gonna need a new suit. And he’s going to need to get a hold of Edison, of course. And what to do with Stephanie while he’s out on a date?
Guess you’ll have to stick around and see what happens!
I kinda don’t like where I think this is goin’.
“Something is going to happen.”
“What’s going to happen?”
“Something wonderful.”
(2010 – I love that movie!)
Oh I think Eleanor is going to do something to screw with the two of them, cause she comes across as a b&^%h, and like Anya, doesn’t want to keep her fricking nose out of their business.
Philo is always absent in Edison’s flashbacks. Is Rosemary married, separated, hiding, and/or maybe schizophrenic? ‘Beware the monsters of the Id’ (Forbidden Planet – I love that movie).
Rosemary was a bored, lonely, alcoholic housewife who entered rehab only to discover a ‘kin in sin’, Phyllis Samson. But was there a specific reason, pivotal event, or person that caused her to suppress Rosemary and become Edison, a bored, lonely, alcoholic nymphomaniac?
‘I love yoo’ is a sad, meaningless offering. I’d like Edison to rediscover LOVE, for herself, her son and . . . Larry, in that order.
‘Well, this is another fine mess you’ve gotten us into!’ (Oliver Hardy)
Charlie Wise: deus ex mechina with giggles.
I don’t think Edison HAS repressed Rosemary, but I think she would like to. Perhaps her alcoholism developed because she wanted to “escape” from the drudgery of being a wife and mother. Whatever the case, now that she has literally escaped and attempted to remake herself, I think she feels the pain of having left behind her family far too acutely when she approaches sobriety. She now self-medicates with sex and alcohol to dull that pain. Add a few illicit drugs to the mix, and she’ll have completed the triad.
True that. I just wonder why Rosemary’s return involves forgiveness. Was there a tragic event that caused her to leave her family and vanish into a new identity? Dilbert has no idea where his mother is . . . physically. Her return would probably require the Discombobulationotron (currently broken) or Electroconvulsive Therapy. I don’t recommend the latter as Edison might spontaneously burst into flames.
@ charlie,
watch the mail box, incoming, on the way.
Got it. Thank you!
MG, I think Edison would need a jet to return to her son. It’d make for a great road trip thread…
Anyway, we’ll find out what Eleanor’s up to soon. Or, we’ll find out what we think she’s up to. One never quite knows…
You’re right. ‘Going back’ and returning home are not quite the same thing. “You can’t go home again” (I’m certain there are Battlestar Galactica fans out there, but I’ll go with Thomas Wolfe on this one.)
The old lady’s arm is really weirdly shaped.
