Wow, that escalated into something ugly fast.
(Ouch!) Granted, this was out of line and Larry had that coming. However, it doesn’t change the fact that Edison was out of line to invite Stephanie to move in and ask Mr. Sampson to modify his house.
On another note:
Charlie, are we ever going to get a glimpse at the kind of adventures that Mr. Sampson engages in regularly? You know, like some trip to another planet where – for whatever reason – he brings Larry and Steph along? At one point he did bring them to his space station, but that’s as far as we’ve seen.
Mrs. Sampson was part of his Sampson team, but she’s gone now. Maybe there’s a mission where a nigh-indestructible android would be useful? Perhaps a harsh environment, like extreme heat? Or maybe they could use some extra ‘muscle’?
That would be all sorts of fun. I’d imagine a return to “The Plateau That Time Misplaced.” Stephanie would be absolutely charming, finding a baby dinosaur. Of course, it’d be another story when the mom showed up…
Ah, insecurity rears its ugly head. Larry fears he too is just a stray she picked up on a whim? That if he had exited the house during the party just a few seconds later, it would have been some other guy escorting her home. He fears that he isn’t Mr. Right but merely Mr. Right Now?

You went a step too far there, didn’t you Larry? Questioning her right to move in on you was a good idea, but you just shot all your moral outrage with that cheap crack.

Edison just crashed into Larry’s reality barrier. Edison is selfish and egocentric. She expects life to accommodate her every whim. But Larry’s reached the ‘love limit’ and we’ll see who blinks first. I was beginning to think our boy’s brain had turned to mush.
Man, all my favorite comics are ramping up the drama these days. I can understand her getting pissed, but a punch is the kind of thing you can’t take back.
