At least Eleanor recognizes the danger of the situation. That, and she’s concerned for Stephanie, of course.
But will Larry be able to help Robespierre and Stephanie? Ah, we’ll find out shortly!

Is that a twitch in the ‘Lil Stinkers eye ridge?
(Panel four)
Good point, Eleanor. Smooth things over and hope for the best. Hopefully the poor li’l guy will revive…
The look on Eleanor’s face say’s it all. She is VERY worried.
On the plus side, Larry has an intrinsic genius and there are a bunch of donuts left. Maybe the Li’l guy is just stunned and needs time and donuts parts to revive.
Ice cream would work the best. 100cc’s of ice cream, STAT!
No Robspierre!! He’s got to wake up! He’s just got to! Poor little guy…
And Eleanor, taking charge of things to help someone! Though it makes me worried what would happen if Stephanie did get hysterical, if Eleanor had to be crazy to let that happen…it doesn’t paint a good picture.
I do feel a little sorry for Larry, being put on the spot like that. However, Stephanie isn’t likely to go beserk on him, she likes him.
I find it telling that Eleanor refers to Stephanie as “the robot” rather than by name – though that may have just been a subtle way of pointing out that Steph has some unknown capabilities that could be … hazardous … if she’s stressed too far.
But I have confidence that Robby is going to be just fine.
ISN’T HE, CHARLIE!! ~scowls ferociously~
Stephanie has greater-than-human strength and speed. Heck, she can take down a blimp by throwing a projectile at it GO BOOM. It’s not her “unknown” abilities, but her “previously demonstrated” abilities that are worrying Eleanor.
Stephanie might not hurt anyone, but if she damaged the discombobulationotron, that could be fatal to Eleanor.
Charlie is ominously silent so far…
Oh, I’m just hanging back, enjoying your comments.
I don’t like to step in right away. I like to read what you have to say, and to read your responses to each other.
Then I come in and set things straight, or tease, or whatever.
You are warped and twisted, No wonder we like you.
Oh stop it. You’re making me blush.
Sorry about the lynch mob, Mike.
Oh blast they’ve found me Again?
Hmm, I don’t think so. The ‘mike’ we found claimed it was not him. However, when we ‘found’ the clown gear. . . .
We’ll keep looking after we clean up.
p.s. the circus was not happy on what we did to their clowns. Sigh, no pleasing some people.
Don’t let Anya hear that. You know how she feels about clowns.
Well, after several ‘meetings’ with Anya, the group has declared a halt to the Mike/Clown hunt.
Anya may look like a harmless librarian, but. . but. .she gets scary when mad. . . she is a really brutal fighter, almost bearish, freedom fighter type!?!
The wounds will heal. . . . someday.
Actually, yes – I just noticed your photo on the “Girls With Slingshots” comments and stopped to check.
A-HA!
(that comment directed at Dragonsreach/Mike, btw)
I still don’t think you would outright kill Robie, but I have this distinct feeling then when Robie does come to, something is going to be wrong with him and this incident will be far from over. I just can’t imagine you would have a shocking turn of events like this only to brush it off–something else is bound to be in waiting.
Ah, you know me too well.
I don’t want to give anything away. You’ll learn more with the next few strips.
But here’s something to think about: If Robie dies, who is that hexapod on the mantlepiece, and where did it come from?
For that matter, where did Robespierre come from?
And what is he?
What kind of creature can be dissolved by a discombobulationotron field, and then reassemble himself?
How about: One that could be very deadly. Until now the only one hurt by Robie has been Edison. No one (there) knows just how strong Robie is.
That could change.
