Well, my goodness. That took everyone by surprise (including me, when I sat down to write this).
Who knew?
How’re Larry and Edison gonna react to this? More importantly, how is Eleanor going to take it (because darling, she has such plans for everyone)?
Welll… you may be surprised, and I hope you’ll be amused. That’s all I’ll say for now.
Let’s all give a big Thank You to Mother Nature for this week’s strip. Thanks to a big snowstorm in North Dakota, I got a couple extra days to finish this. Otherwise, I never would’ve had enough time. File this one under “Unintended Consequences.”
I would imagine it would be something like: “He’s mine, all mine, nothing and no one between me and mine! Mu-ha-ha-ha!” Then, after years of scheming, including disposing of her own sister to have Larry… She will forget about him, and go after Sampson.
Eleanor is like a cat. Planning to take over the world, then doesn’t want it when she gets it.
She also likes to play with her food before she kills it.
Too busy admiring Stephanie’s outfit to actually read the comic. I’m sure I’ll get around to it, though.
I do hope you’ll enjoy it! It’s kind of a loooong read. Do leave comments and let me (and the best commenters in comics) know what you think!
I can’t take credit for Stephanie’s outfit. The Mighty melaredblu designed it back when Stephanie crossed over into “The Refraction of Princess Chroma” comics.
Though I kind of wish Stephanie didn’t love it so much. It’s really nice, but a pain to draw, panel after panel…
You could sum up most of my designs that way. I make them up on the spot and then suffer the consequences of my hubris when I realize I have to do it again. And again. And AGAIN.
This is why Blanche and Juno change outfits every five seconds. Can’t be bothered to stick with one consistent signature dress.
Oh, if only Stephanie was so fickle. She tends to find things she likes and stick with them.
Plus, there’s that whole thing of “It was designed and given me by Sir Leopold Gryphon, Royal Plumber to the Kingdom of Elyseum” thing. She’s still carrying a torch for the poor sod, unaware of his current condition.
Neither Edison nor Larry saw that one coming….
They may have underestimated their girlfriend.
She’s really gonna take them by surprise next.
As sweet as she is, nobody puts their foot down in this comic like Stephanie. Her no is a capital ENN OH. But, uh. I hope she has a realistic proposal on how Edison and Larry should fix their relationship. She tends to not always account for peoples’ vices and limitations, I’ve noticed. Though this would be an excellent opportunity for her to grow a bit and show a better understanding of how to work with the people in her life as they ARE and not as she thinks they ought to be–while keeping that eternal hopefulness we all love about her.
I agree. Stephanie can put her foot down like nobody else, and get away with it every time.
Will she this time?
And I hope she has a realistic proposal, though this is Stephanie we’re talking about. It’s possible that her naivete and innocence will show Larry and Edison a way to work through this. And you’re right-this would be a wonderful opportunity for her to grow a bit and learn how those she loves work.
Ah, we’ll see. In the meantime, she has… okay, you’ll see soon enough.
