Ah, now we revisit the real reason why Edison has come to visit Vampire Victoria. Sure, she’s addicted to getting bit, but she’s enough of a lush to handle cravings by now.
Wonder what Victoria’s going to tell her? Well, you won’t find out next time, because there’s still some ‘splaining to do. Maybe too much for one poor soul. You’ll just have to tune in to see!
Also, according to my 1924 Webster’s, a wiseacre is:
1)A sayer of wise things; a learned or wise man
2) One who makes pretensions to great wisdom, hence, in contempt or irony, a would-be wise person; a serious simpleton or dunce.

Those high Victorian collars (or more likely Edwardian, but, well, *Victoria*) are quie useful in a society of vampires.
So, how should one pronounce ‘humachinal’? Emphasis on the MACH? I keep wanting to add more syllables than you’ve given me letters for.
Good question, Pops. According to my 1924 Webster’s:
ma-chin (accent mark) al [ma-shen(accent mark)al: mak(accent mark)-i-nal]
Since humachinal is made-up, I’d put the accent on the second syllable: Hu-mak(accent mark)-i-nal
I have to type “accent mark” because Worthle-I mean, Word Press won’t allow alternate symbols apparently.
The term “wiseacre” is often used to denote a person who is trying to be funny by saying something droll at the expense of the person or subject under discussion. Also, a person who answers a question with a wisecrack. ^^
Huh. So now we finally know who she decided to go to for advice. Interesting choice, I didn’t even think of it.
The scenery in panel one is friggen’ gorgeous.
Thank you! I’m really happy with how that turned out.
Yep. Who better to ask for advice about your current boyfriend than his last girlfriend?
He did ask her for a surprise, and Edison’s not one to back down from a challenge. She’s got some good ammunition to draw on, to say the least.
Oh, she’s got surprises you ain’t even wondered about yet.
Though I’ve dropped breadcrumbs…
Oh, you don’t know the half of it. She’s got surprises even I can’t tell you about.
