Reade certainly does have an active imagination, doesn’t she?
Well? Is he flirting? Or is he just being witty? What do you think?
Ah well, you’ll find out pretty soon. Stay tuned!
While you’re waiting, stop over and enjoy the really first-chop comic, “I, Mummy,” from whence the lovely lady in panel two hails. It’s pretty skookum.
Oh, and I just discovered that the fine folks over at “The Demon Archives” interviewed our very own Delta-V! If you want to see what he looks like (the handsome devil), and hear some great stories, then head on over!
Reade’s face in panel three! As if any refined lady would think like that, Cough yeah right!
Totally flirting!
I think most of my lady friends would say that being honestly witty is more attractive than purposefully flirting.
Hoping Reade drags him into the stacks and gives his frontispiece a close inspection.
I had a friend-mother of a daughter my daughter’s age-who told me: “You are such a terrible flirt!” Terrible in the sense that I was always flirting.
“I’m not a flirt,” I protested. “In fact, I go out of my way to not flirt!”
“That’s just it,” she said, “You treat women like people. Intelligent people.”
Spot on.
Ahahah I love panel 3! Amazing visual joke there.
You know Reade, I always have the same problem. Being witty and flirting are dangerously similar.
Usually, it’s the other way around: most guys think any woman being pleasant is flirting, even if she’s just smiling while taking your coffee order.
Thanks for the cameo and comic plug, Charlie!!! 🙂
Glad you like her. She was a lot of fun to draw.
I’ve been accused of flirting–or trying to–all my life, when all I was trying to do is be pleasant or funny. From the reaction to what girls thought of my supposed flirting, I knew better than to try the real thing.
From the fact that Nelson didn’t continue the repartee, leads me to believe that he wasn’t seriously trying in the first place.
Reade’s reaction is also interesting. Is that amusement–or hope? 🙂
And thanks so much for the mention, Charlie, I’m still having trouble believing it’s all happening.
You know, I think the thing that impresses me the most is that she’s able to imagine him naked from the back while he’s directly facing her.
She’s imagining him nekkid all the way around.
Not any harder than you’re flirting with HIM, Reade….:)
Yeah. No kidding.
Originally the “what’s cookin’ good lookin'” line was going to be Reade’s, but it worked better this way.
