Oh that Stephanie. Even I don’t always know what she’s going to say.
Happy Monday! Wednesday, Anya makes it all better-for a price. You’ll see what I mean.
Aki-Con this weekend in the beautiful (and cold, and now rainy) Pacific Northwest!

Awww, now I want to watch Iron Giant.
I host the movie night at our local library, and we showed that last month. It’s even more wonderful on a big screen.
I’ve looked at this strip for a day now and I still can’t get out of my head that I have heard the phrase Rossum Possum before. The only thing is that it was so long ago I’m not sure where it was I heard that phrase… and its been a splinter in my mind.
There was something else I did want to mention; one of the things that I really like about this comic are the ages of the people, they are closer to my age instead of in their twenties or something like that. When I read that Larry’s age was thirty nine, I was “Cool someone to relate with.” (for some reason I can’t fathom I can not end that sentence without a preposition)
Not sure where you might’ve seen Rossum Possum. I was just playing off Stephanie’s last name (and you all know where Rossum comes from).
I’m glad someone else relates to older main characters. I haven’t seen any strips that feature middle agers so far.
Nothing against 20 somethings, but it’s been a while since I could directly relate to some of their issues.
Besides, I find middle aged women a lot more attractive and fun to draw.
The maturity does say something about the characters, the relationships and situations have a complexity to them that is missing from a 20 year-olds point of view. There is also something to be said about having a history that develops the characters and how they perceive relationships. Particularly ones that are more complex then a simple Monogamous relationships.
Thank you. Yes, they all come with long, complicated histories that do affect their approaches to relationships.
Larry’s cautious, having been terribly hurt in the past (and I still can’t tell you what it was). He also hasn’t had a lot of experience in relationships. Though he is cautious, he still throws himself into a serious relationship with a woman he hardly knows, partly because he doesn’t know when this chance will come again.
Anya’s had her ups and downs as well, and, while she’s more adventurous (to say the least), she’s still just looking for someone to connect with.
And Edison? She’s the biggest mystery of all.
