Oh, this week isn’t over just yet.
Anyway, happy Wednesday!
If you’re new (welcome!) this may not make too much sense. You’d have to go here to see what they’re talking about.
Friday, it’s on with the date!
Oh, and Thursday is the 75th anniversary of the release of Action Comics #1, which, as you all know, featured ‘Pep’ Morgan, Scooby the Five Star Reporter, Sticky-Mitt Stimson, and that guy in the tights.
Thanks for the link. Had a luverly week.
Edison is . . . gorgeous. She could almost fake sober.
Larry is wearing a black arm band. I assume the ‘services’ for missus Samson are still set for tomorrow, er, I mean Saturday. I’m aware of selective compression as a literary device. But the past ‘Groovy’ week has taken fourteen months (minus three days). Would this be considered ‘selective expansion’? If Eleanor could get the Discombobulationotron working, we could find out what Larry and Edison are doing for their second week anniversary. As for one year? I should live so long.
“Than’kyoo. Now drive slow, ‘cause I got scenery t’a’mire.”
(Edison, page 30)
Thank you. I think she’s quite pretty, and I was trying to give her a sort of “happiness glow.”
It’s funny-when I first started I didn’t think it’d take over 230 strips to get through the first week. Oh well, it’s a classic case of Webcomic Time. But there was just so much fun stuff to show! I think week 2 will go by faster.
And yes, today in the town of Innesmount, in the great state of Jefferson, it is Friday at last. So, the memorial service is set for tomorrow.
Wow, that flew right by me. I’ll just be over in the corner, picking up the pieces of my blown mind. Your characters sure live life to the fullest, Charlie.
OK, me and the boys went out for a few drinks tonight, so I am going to admit something on Charlie’s G’K forum that I have never admitted to anyone else but my wife. I hated most of the music of the 1970’s. No really. Then one of my cousins played a single for us. Ten seconds after she dropped the needle, I was hooked. It was Steely Dan’s “FM” and I have never looked back.
Charlie, thanks for your wonderful webcomic, and my apologies for getting all remembery on G’K.
No apologies necessary, my friend.
Maybe it’s the 70’s vibe; maybe it’s because the characters (and writer) are older than other comics. GK just seems to attract a great group of commentators.
It wasn’t Rock and Roll, it was BLUES. Nilsson, Newman, Rose, Zappa, Plant, Bowie, Jagger . . . BRAIN DUMP! OUCH!
Flash back: I didn’t realize my stepdaughters were perusing my forgotten vinyl collection until the 17 year-old came to me with a request. “I bought two tickets to a Jethro Tull concert, but nobody at school is interested. Would you mind going with me?”
Life is sweet!
Heavy Horses. Great album. Sweet slice of life story, MG! Thanks for sharing.
Edison looks fantastic. So does Larry. I almost wish this moment would never end.
Me too. These two are so happy and in love.
I was thinking, when I finally make a GK book, that this would be a good last page. Leave everything on a high note.
Sign me up for that too!
Charlie; Edison looks so like ‘Tricia (Patricia) the Barista in the second frame its scary. (In the good way)
Oh and this is soo much a “Moment to never end”
I guess he got all the cheesecake-stains out of that suit.
