You can dress it up with sauteed onion or a bit of bell pepper, or even some bacon or diced ham, but yeah, it’s kinda boring at base.
But I think Stephanie (and Charlie) are mostly just tickled by the word itself. Stephanie because it sounds funny, Charlie because he’s a student of Old High Narragansett and its derivatives.
Oh Pops, not as much as I wanted to lay a piping hot slab of Groovy, Kinda out.
It’s written, 4 panels pencilled, two almost inked, and…
…I’m just trying to get the ability to draw back.
Soon, I hope. Thank you again for your patience, my friend.
If I were to attempt a comic, or a novel for that matter, I think it would wind up being all pointless dialogue. I can invent meandering conversations but crafting a plot eludes me, so if you’ve got a comic written then you’re ahead of me. The ability to draw hits closer to home. I spent a couple hours last night at my favorite watering hole, at a back table with my sketch book and pens. Not too bad, considering it had been months since I last drew freehand, but not up to your standards by a long shot.
I wanna see! I wanna see! So, draw some fan art and we’ll put it up!
This is why I do a comic. I’ve tried prose, and writing all that description is a nightmare. I love the dialogue.
One nice thing about comics is that it forces you to edit your dialogue. Words take up a lot of space in a panel.
Thufferin’ thuccotash!
Thankth for the thour perthimmonth, couthin.
It’s just lima beans and corn…
I’ve never actually had succotash.
Guess I’d better try making some sometime.

Stephanie just loves how the word sounds and rolls around in her mouth.
I had to get up extra early this morning and was hoping there’d be a nice, fresh, piping hot GK waiting for me….

Hmmmm. What I sketch isn’t fan art — mostly either landscapes or builings (I’m an architect) or else weak attempts at portraiture.
I wouldn’t mind sharing, but I don’t know how one uploads to your site. I should poke around a bit….
Succotash, scalloped potatoes AND meat loaf? Close to My Favorite Meal from Childhood there…lol
I never understood why other kids didn’t like lima beans? Seriouslly?
I think it’s a combination of the taste and texture.
I must confess-I’ve never tried succotash. I’ll have to make it someday.
Anybody got a favorite recipe?
Open can. Heat in a pan. Toss pan into trash. Eat the can.
Actually, the first two, then add butter.
That was me. Oops.
