Oh, Toivo is so happy. In a minute he’s going to be as surprised as Prospero is. And then..?
Good thing Toivo brought two cases of beer. Even better that he didn’t drop them when he saw Lyssa.
I think this is going to be a Tunnels and Trolls game like no other.
There’s bear hugs, and then there’s Toivo hugs. Proceed at your own risk.
Prospero is seeing double. Wonder if he likes what he sees…
You’ll find out next time!
I just realized something cool! When I spotted that word bubble in panel four acting as the dot of the exclamation point, I realized that if you look at the negative space on the S just right, along with her glasses, it kind of looks like an abstract cartoon chicken!
Prospero’s predicament reminds me of the Star Trek movie where the shape shifter takes on Kirk’s form…
“Don’t shoot me, shoot th’imposter! I’m da original one, eh?”
“No he ain’t! Shoot him! I am, eh?”
There will be subtle differences. We’ll see if you can tell what they are.
“I can’t believe I kissed you!”
“Must have been your lifelong ambition.”
I thought Toivo was gay? He’s wedged his face quite firmly in her cleavage…
When you love someone that much Gender doesn’t matter.
He’s just so glad to see her.
So that is a bananna in his pocket…
That! Is one hell’a hug! And it comes with it’s own version of a happy ending. I bet Toivo can crack the heck out of a sore back.
He’s the only one who can give Caliban a decent backrub, that’s for sure.
Charlie:
I’m kinda wondering how you got the pictures of me from the Seventies when I looked like Mr Duke-Milan?
Now I’m closer to looking like Hal Holbrook.
You mean, the Mark Twain/Edvard Greig Hal Holbrook? I think you need to grow your hair out for that.
But, since you pointed out the resemblance, he will now be a skilled model figure painter in his spare time.
Wonderful page, Charlie. The second panel is pure happiness-fodder. 🙂 And poor Prospero. How does one handle something like that?
He-hee, you’ll see on Monday.
I can say no more.
It’s killing me, cause I just rewrote the script, and if I told you what I did you’d know what was going to happen.
“…a Tunnels and Trolls game…” that would be a euphemism for…?
(Yes, I know it’s an RPG rule set from Flying Buffalo. Got a copy in the late ’70s when we were making our homebrew RPG rules.)
It was also a PBM. I played it for a while.
Bumper sticker showing a troll with an arrow through its skull:
“NYAHH! YA MISSED ALL MY VITAL SPOTS!!”
I’m so envious of how you create Toivo’s fuzziness.
It’s easy-really, really thin technical pen for his stubble, and a brush for the hair.
