…Victoria, of course. And… vampire? Sure looks like it, doesn’t it? Well, you know we have no truck with surprises ’round these parts, so everyone (except maybe Amy) can rest easily. At least they know where they stand. Or do they?
Frankly, it’s nice to see Victoria doing well. One never knows how someone will fare after being shoved into another dimension. Looks like she might have some residual feelings for Larry, so maybe Edison shouldn’t rest so easily either.
Okay, enough speculating! Throw some comments on here and I’ll try to confuse you even more.
In the meantime, Now Here’s Something We Hope You’ll Really Like: The talented and fabulous MJ Massey, one of my favoritest comic creators (she of the mighty Vatican Assassins) HAS A NEW COMIC STARTING RIGHT NOW!
It’s called Black Ball, and, well, I’ll let mj describe it:
“In the 1920s, ladies’ hair is short, music is loud, and the underground secret world of New York is flowing with alcohol and illegal magic.
Emily Trent has always lived in the shadow of her more elegant and prettier sister Amelia. But when Amelia is murdered, something doesn’t add up, especially when Emily discovers a secret spell crafting kit in Amelia’s room.
To solve the mystery, Emily will have to dive into the world of the illegal spellcraft trade and the roaring night life of the speakeasies of New York. Her only clue: a letter addressed to Miss Millie DeBoer–aka the belle of Black Ball, the city’s most infamous night club. But Black Ball was busted by the cops, and no one knows where, or if, this moving party will pop up next….”
Spoiler Alert: I’ve read the first chapter, and it’s wonderful! Congratulations, you now have another cool comic to enjoy!
Ahhhhh Victoria appears at last! And looking fabulous in Victorian wear! Victorian Victoria!
And thank you for the shout out, Charlie! Stay tuned for more tragic 1920s shenanigans! 😀
More wonderful, tragic 1920s shenanigans, you mean, mj!
Enjoy the Victorian Vickie while you can. This is as close to steampunk as I’m able to get (the more I tried, the more I admired the amazing Andy of “I, Mummy” fame. Now there’s a creator who knows how to do steampunk!).
Andy’s got the steampunk aethestic down! I know I’d have a hard time pulling it off myself. Once I wanted to do a comic set in Imperial Russia but…backgrounds….
Seems Victoria got interrupted in her last meal? Will he revive as a vampire or remain drained? Maybe Eleanor should find out.
Perhaps he will, but probably not. Vickie would be careful not to make too many vampires-too much competition, for one thing.
And Eleanor would love to find out. Personally.
Will she? Hmm…
Why I became Anonymous, I don’t know. Presume it was at dinner Victoria was interrupted.
I’m not sure why you showed up as Anonymous either, Chris. That’s been happening a bit lately. One of them computer things that I’m not smart enough to figure out.
And it’s possible she was interrupted at dinner. Or a snack. If she was feeding. If she was a vampire. If…I can say no more.
Let’s see, here. What appear to be fangs, apparent puncture wounds on the guy’s neck, a seeming corpse… Who wouldn’t conclude that Vicky’s a vampire?
Anyone who has read very much of Groovy, Kinda, that’s who. ^^
You know me too well, D-v. And I love you for it.
Looks like Victoria was in the middle of having someone for dinner…
A la Hannibal Lecter. “I’m having an old friend over for dinner.”
“V is for Vickie, that’s good enough for me…”
…what??
Vickie, Victoria, Victory, Victorian, Vampire, Valdictorian..? What?
I can’t help it. Every time this whole “vampire” business comes up, my eyes cross and I thumb furiously through my mental file cabinet (and really, you have no idea how old and battered the poor thing is…) looking for where in HELL this idea came from.
Yeah, yeah – I know it started during the infamous “I’m done now and here’s what happens” period (glad THAT foolishness wore off!) but since I flatly refuse to accept that business as canon, its stamina as a viable concept just amazes me.
Looks like a stage show to me. 😐
Actually, the idea’s been around for a while. Maybe since here.
I think the idea just came from the situation. Eleanor did shove Vickie through the discombobulationotron. She does want to live forever. So… maybe.
And anyway, is it so crazy in a world with Miffy, Stephanie, Toivo, and Robie?
As to whether Eleanor becomes a vampire, well, that’s still way up in the air. Some of that “epilogue” will not come to pass.
“Looks like a stage show to me.” You don’t know what a wonderful compliment that is! Thank you, Tru! I consider comics to be a form of theatre. I’ve been in a number of productions, and I use that experience when I write and draw.
Or did you mean staged show? You’re closer to one aspect of this than you think, my friend.
