That is the question, hey? And I think the answer this time is a definite maybe. Or maybe not. Or Maybellene, why cant’cha be true? Either way, something is going on.
And Eleanor is correct when she says Victoria is often buffeted on the capricious winds of fashion. Why, back in the 80’s, as a famous supermodel, she embraced big hair, padded shoulders, and neon colors-in the process very nearly destroying the classic polyester shirt, ultra low waisted bellbottom pant, and chunky platform shoe industry! Fortunately cooler heads prevailed and we still have the fabulous fashions that readers of Groovy, Kinda have come to love and respect.
But I digress.
Still some questions remain. Is she a vampire or isn’t she? When she asks them to invite her in, is it because she’s one of the bloodsucking walking dead or is she just being polite? Is Edison really mad or just having fun? What’s Eleanor’s real plan? Who is Talbot?
All these and more will probably not be answered next time, though they might. They will be answered eventually, with a few surprises thrown in along the way. You’re just gonna have to buckle up and enjoy the ride. I know I am.
“Oh mate, the missus and the ex! Welcome to every man’s worst nightmare.”
Yeah, this could get awkward. Unless there’s something else going on that’ll diffuse the situation…
The only advice I have for Larry: “Let it be….”
Whee! And so begins the roller-coaster ride of conflicting information. Is it day or night where she is? Are her co-workers vampires? How does she really feel about Eleanor? So delicious. ^^
And, for the record, there is no particular reason why a vampire can’t have a finely honed fashion sense. š
I vote vampire, or trickster. Possibly both š
Oh, she wants to be invited in, does she? Everyone, put your stakes and your hammers away. It’s safe, no vampires here. Well, she had some convincing answers ready, at any rate. I’ll delay my judgement for now, and just sit over here… Eating my garlic sandwich.
Charlie. Your penmanship is Re-a-all-y super! That last frame is so good – if Vickie looked at me like that, with an invite, Iād be grabbing a garlic necklace, cross ear rings, and a shot loaded with silver pellets.
Damn, Iām Anonymous again! Chris
The clues you have tossed out here aim at Werewolf or vampire. the use of the name ‘Talbot’ and the don’t tell him order sounds like he is a pack leader and aims at Werewolf (Larry Talbot, classic monster movie The Werewolf) and the middle bottom frame where her silhouette seems to show extended canines.
He-hee, we have a (kinda sorta) winner! Welcome, Mark N, and thank you for getting the Larry Talbot reference! “The Wolfman” is one of my favorite Universal Monster Movies.
I won’t say what Victoria is just yet, but I will let you all in on a bit of history. Way back in grade school (When we made comics on stone tablets and we were grateful to have the rocks, I can tell you!) I and some really cool friends made a comic called “The Schmoe Gang.” We each did our own strips and put ’em together (I think my sister still has it somewhere). Anyway, my comic had a werewolf as a main character.
Ah, but who is Talbot? And what is Victoria?
