WOODIE TWO-SHOES
Well, it took a while, but I finally got to use “By Neptune’s Crimson Woodie!” in a strip in 2022. Long overdue, I say.
Anyway… good thing Toivo happened to read his TV Guide for the day, so he could save Larry from doing something he’d have a hard time explaining to Edison. Unless she told him about her little, ah, “indiscretions” first (which is why she’s visiting Vampire Victoria and why Stephanie is visiting Space Victoria).
Still…poor Anya. She’s gonna miss her playmate. I went back through the archives to get some of the best Anya/Jacob moments.
How is Eleanor gonna take the thwarting of her plans to get Anya and Larry together?
Coming your way next: Two old friends banter about recent events, with potentially unpleasant results. Stick around!
Toivo’s earned a cookie. I really, truly doubt “frolicking” would have done Anya or Larry any good in the long run (though going from Larry to Eleanor is a…questionable choice for Anya). Anya really needs to sort out her emotions and Larry has more than enough women to concern himself with as it is.
He certainly has, and it woulndn’t have helped either one (though it might’ve comforted Anya in the short-term).
Once again, you’re entirely right-she needs to work things out herself-without any help from Larry or Eleanor.
Returning to check here too since I think I’m never commenting when I do that -.-
Good save :>
Also, I really like the composition of this page.
Thank you, my friend! That means a lot, coming from one of my all-time favorite creators!
Who, I might add, just posted a new page…
Ordinarily, I would never accuse Toivo of concocting a rescue like this, but Larry was just a shade too surprised for it to be much of anything else….
Eleanor might be less likely to punish Toivo on the off chance that he wasn’t being devious. ^^
(Loved the idea of “barf bags in the cooler”) ^^
Eleanor might punish Toivo just for the sheer fun of it, but she won’t hold him responsible for what didn’t happen. Toivo’s pretty oblivious to most of her machinations.
It was a fortuitous coincidence, really. I had been racking what’s left of my brain to figure out what was going to happen next, when Toivo just popped in like he did here.
Sometimes that’s how these strips work.
I agree that’s too good a line to not work into the comic somehow.
