Okay, well, you couldn’t facepalm any harder than I did when I wrote this. If either one of those two ever decides to open an Advice Column…
And, while some people might be flattered to be compared to an Evil Genius like Eleanor, her little sister is not one of them. She knows her too well, and has put up with far too much.
And you remember when Larry dropped this little bombshell on Edison, right?
COMING SOON: Oh let’s see…Larry puts Toivo’s plan into effect with Eleanor, with the unexpected results. Oh, and a Special Surprise! Do stick around!
I like Edison best when she’s drunk.
But I don’t like that I like Edison best when she’s drunk.
I’m right with ya, Pops. I love both Edisons, drunk or sober. Drunk Edison is more fun (and easier to write).
I just sometimes feel bad watching her happily spiral down. And worry for her health. Does that make sense?
Absolute and complete sense.
Geez. This is actually upsetting that they think this is a better idea than just talking to him and working things out. Like, you two would really rather break his spirit and make him think enabling her is the only way he can have her? I feel bad for Larry.
Hit that nail square. They need to talk it out. Without Edison getting defensive and derailing the conversation.
She might be surprised by what she hears.
The problem when you have twisted friends… I’m also guilty of liking drunk Edison…
Maybe I should take a poll…
Or take a drink.
That’s Edison’s solution to everything.
Charlie, I love all of your characters for what they are and how they fit into the story, figurative warts and all. If anything, their various flaws and foibles make them more human, not less, and, while there are quite a few things they do that I wouldn’t, I’m sure that the reverse is also true. ^^
Well said, good friend, well said. Thank you for that compliment. I try very hard to let them express their flaws and foibles, even if I think they’re making poor choices. A big part of the fun for me is to watch what they do.*
Or, as a good friend said about them: “I don’t like most of your characters, but they are interesting.”
*I know how weird that sounds, since everything they do comes from inside my head.
Inside your head, or at least from one compartment of it. ^^
