Edison can be kind of pushy, can’t she? Larry’s referring to this time, two hundred and eight strips ago (!).
So, are they going to move in together? What about Toivo? And Robespierre? What is Robespierre, anyway? What’s Anya gonna say? Heck, what’s Stephanie gonna say?*
Is it even going to happen?
Anyway, happy Wednesday! Friday, our two lovebirds will discuss whether or not to discuss it. And, next week, we’ll introduce someone you’ve only seen in fleeting glimpses.
* Don’t know yet, but it’ll probably be adorable. You know that Stephanie.
Love it.
Larry’s got that “startled rabbit in the headlights” look most men get when confronted with a determined woman.
Just hope their dining room tables got strong legs.
And I can see Toivo loving Robespierre, just maybe not returned.
*Melts*
It actually took me a few reads to realise that Edison disrobes between panel 3 and 4. 🙂
she’s kweek!
Robespierre is Steinbeck’s camper in “Travels with Charlie” – or did you not mean “that” Robespierre?
Steinbeck’s camper was named Rocinante, from Don Quixote. This am Robespierre
dosvidonyah tivo.
Oh Charlie, you clever, clever boy!
Last night I showed my wife GroovyKinda as a proof of her new laptop working..(don’t ask)..she asks who the characters are and when I tell her Edisons name, she says “Wasn’t that a pop group?”
So I look them up and Yes… Edison Lighthouse a 1960’s group famous for:-
“Love grows, where my Rosemary Goes.”
So either you’ve been really clever, or I’ve found a bizarre co-incidence.
Edison Lighthouse came first, when I originally created her for another strip. Then, when I needed her real name, the obvious choice was Rosemary.
Here’s a coincidence: The lead singer for Edison Lighthouse was Tony Burrows, who sang lead for a whole bunch of groups (sometimes at the same time).
He also sang on the song: “Gimme Dat Ding,” which, as you know, was a hit for The Pipkins.
I kind of knew that at the time, but that’s not why I chose that as her last name. I just thought it sounded good. Then later, I realized what I had done.
serendipity strikes again.
There’s a scene in Lyssa and the Pirates where Eleanor is skipping a stone. It wasn’t until 2 years after I drew it that I realized I had illustrated a scene from the Human League’s song Mirror Man.
