Ha-ha. Oh, that Eleanor. She’s the only person to ever have planted mines in a chessboard.
Thank goodness Lyssa’s not new to the game.
Coming up-everyone gets settled and the Tunnels and Trolls game gets…ah heck, you’ll see. Oh, and we’ll see someone we haven’t seen in a loooong time. Can you guess who it might be?
UPDATE: The marvelous Delta-v has just posted “Why I Read Groovy, Kinda” over on The Demon Archives blog. The “Why I Read…” is a great series, and a wonderful way to learn about, and learn more about a lot of great comics. I think you’ll really like it.
Ooooooooh there was such a Burn there.
BUT Eleanor let slip something of her caring nature too.
Superbly written once again, Charlie.
Aw, thanks.
Eleanor and Lyssa have an interesting dynamic. Even though Larry, Toivo, and Nelson have lived with Eleanor longer, Lyssa was her best friend.
And, if Eleanor had a conscience, she would have felt guilty for sending Lyssa into a world full of pirates.
But I wanted her to let Lyssa know she felt.
Love. Eleanor’s expression in panel two – she wasn’t expecting that from Stephanie. And how alike Alyssa and she are, attraction of like poles?
They do look a lot alike, don’t they? It’s like the Betty & Veronica episodes where they would change hair color and styles and impersonate one another.
I’ll have to work on the differences in their faces.
I hope I get the chance-we still don’t know how long they’re going to be in this world…
Oooh. Timeframe.
Eleanor is ice cold and composed as always, but it’s obvious that Lyssa has indeed changed. I really hope you take the time to explore this new dynamic a bit before she off and disappears again, because it’s sizzling on this page.
Ah, yes. You’ve read “The Adventures of Lyssa and the Pirates,” so you (and Eleanor) remember the mousy little Lyssa from back then. She may be in for some surprises.
No, she will be in for some surprises.
I guess nobody’s said how long the pirates are going to stay, have they?
WELL, someone is going to mention how long they think they’re going to be around soon.
Boy, Lyssa’s got some fight in her. I’ve seen Reade try to out-snark Eleanor, but I think Lyssa’s come the closest yet to actually being able to match wits with her. Guess when you’ve done real broadsides, the verbal stuff becomes child’s play.
There’s going into battle against someone shooting hundreds of pounds of screaming hot metal at you, and then there’s Eleanor.
But yes, Lyssa has seen a lot since she went away. Her eyes have been opened to a lot of things.
I think it’s safe to say that now it’s Eleanor’s turn.
Darn, the internet ate my comment. I blame the pirates.
That last panel is just too cute. But, contrary to Eleanor’s assessment of the crew’s employment prospects, I know someone who works as a professional privateer. At parties and such, but it’s a living. Speaking of sea rovers, have you read Pirate Mike?
Pirate Mike is cool! Thanks for turning me on to that, Andy. Yar!
I can just imagine the hijinks that would ensue if Allen or Mancanilla pretended to be pirates at a party.
Now, Caliban would be a big hit. Especially if he had Stephanie and Robespierre.
Sorry that your comment got boarded and taken. These here can be treacherous waters, matey. Yar!
Perhaps Eleanor shouldn’t be quite so sure of her position. After all, there are Corporate Raiders, Intellectual Property Piracy, and even smash-and-grab–after all, they’re BEHIND the security cameras. 🙂
And as far as computer crime goes, the rest of the group might not be much help, but I get the feeling that Caliban is more than just a pretty face…….
