Just my way of saying thank you for everything. You’re the best friend a comic creator could have.
Okay, I kind of cheated here. Lyssa isn’t really far enough along to know their baby’s sex. But I couldn’t resist.
Of course, Reade might wish Lyssa had picked a better time to tell Allen. I think we can all imagine what happens right after this.
So, I need to let you know that the next few comics may be late.
I took a small role in our local theatre’s production of “Arsenic & Old Lace.” Well, the lead dropped out two weeks before we open, so guess who’s playing Mortimer?
That’s right. So I have a lot of lines to memorize, and a lot of rehearsals to take up my time. I’ll get the strips done as fast as ever I can.
Thank you for your patience and support. This is the last play for a while, I promise.
Don’t mind me, I’m just bashfully shuffling over here. I might be tearing up too, but that’s just the dust, I swear.
And Reade might be a killjoy now, but if she knew what they were talking about, she’d probably be more indulgent. She is a mom, after all.
Yes, and she’ll love giving Lyssa advice. They can bond over motherhood, the bookstore, and Eleanor.
I think this could be the start of a beautiful friendship.
The last panel is great!
And that is a sweet detail Charlie. I’m touched.
Just giving a little back for all the wonderful things that a certain creator has done for me and Groovy, Kinda.
Who says she knows the baby’s sex? She’ll call them “Sarah” either way. …and call them “her.” Pirate.
That would work. With a dad like Allen, nobody will mess with him/her.
You’ll see why in a while.
And Mancanilla didn’t even wake up….. ^^
He’s used to sleeping in ships. During storms.
But where did he get the teddy bear?
Arsenic and Old Lace, oh man one of my Favourites!
You’ll Ace it Charlie!
Oh man, thank you, Mike!
I’ve been in a lot of plays before, but I’ve never had to memorize this many lines this quickly. I’ll do my best!
And if there’s any pictures in the paper, maybe I’ll share the link.
No snarky comments from me (this time), but I love that you tagged Reade’s van. 🙂 It’s like reverse GPS.
I thought it might be a good idea in case anyone ever wanted to revisit this storyline. Or the one with Reade and Edison.
Sarah’s a good name. Good name for a future scourge of the seas. And poor Reade. So jumpy.
Sympathies. I was going to play Teddy Brewster in a high school production, but for reasons I never found out we didn’t do it.
