It’s Nelson! And Toivo! If you don’t know who Nelson is, please take some time to read “The Importance of Being Eleanor” up top. You don’t have to, but it’ll explain a lot. And I think you’ll like it.
See, Nelson and Larry and Toivo and Eleanor all used to live together, and…
Would you like to see how Larry arrived at Hallow e’en Boulevard? Here’s a strip I did way back long ago in my college newspaper:
Well, it was a long time ago.
Coming up on Monday, Dinner is ready! But is Nelson? Stay tuned!
I’m super psyched that Toivo is back! I’m sure he has plenty to say about things going on of late. :-p
Panel 4 was kind of strange for me. I hadn’t drawn Nelson, Toivo, and Larry together (other than in a flashback) in almost 20 years. So Edison and Stephanie felt like “newcomers,” even though I’ve drawn them in over 300 strips.
It would be interesting to see how your style changed over time, big jumps or a progression of little changes. Knowing any major contributors or insights leading to the changes would be fun too. Maybe in the new book’s intro?
It was pretty gradual while I was drawing regularly. You can see it in Lyssa and the Pirates. Then I’d stop drawing for 5 or 10 years and pretty much have to start all over again.
I would love to see a collection of “Hallow e’en Boulevard” and any other early stuff you’ve done.
In addition to a “Guest Art” page, I suppose I could make an “Hallowe’en Boulevard: The Early Years” one. I still have most of my old strips.
