He hee. Oh Nelson. Oh Reade. What a couple. Couple of what? I dunno, but boy, do they have a chequered past. Looks like she’s decided to attend Eleanor’s party and orgy. We can only wonder how that’s gonna work out. Stay tuned.
Next time, it’s off to everyone’s favorite clothing store for some fashion therapy, a revelation, a hug, and, well, you’ll see.
ANNOUNCEMENT: I’m sorry to say, but this will be the only strip this week. We’re going back to once a week. I’m running low on my buffer, and I got this new job that’s making me too exhausted to do much drawing when I get home. Never fear, I’m getting back in shape, and I am drawing. I just don’t want to miss an update. Thanks for your understanding.
Ah, the shenanigans of the youth. I feel like Nelson is in for a wild ride at Eleanor’s party!
Yeah. You know who always comes out the worst in these situations.
So Reade is going to Eleanor’s soiree/orgy, her daughter Izzy is hanging out with Jacob, and Jacob knows EXACTLY what goes on at one of those.
All that’s standing between Reade and a highly emotionally charged and contempt-infused confrontation with Izzy is a highly unlikely series of missed opportunities for the kids to share information. The suspense here is palpable. ^^
Eleanor’s got it covered. Though you never know what teens might say without thinking…
Yeah, Reade – we really think so. 🙂
Don’t she look cute, though? This strip was so much fun to draw!
I can’t honestly say I have a favorite strip – my brain implodes when I try to pin one down – but I have to say that any strip that includes these guys in their scouting days is REALLY high on the list.
I’m sorry you’re working through your buffer too fast. You know perfectly well that we, your loyal fans, while we appreciate multiple strips in each week (more than you can possibly understand) we also feel, deep in our hearts, that it is much more important – nay, VITALLY important – that you not burn yourself out (again) trying to feed our voracious appetites for all things Wise.
I actually could have made that sentence longer – and was tempted to, but this particular window is only five and a half lines tall and I was losing track of it as I went along.
tl, dr – at your own pace, sir. 🙂
Incidentally – when you add “atmosphere” to your strips, i.e., flies, you really do go beyond the pale. Eww.
With things like flies, too much is never enough. I was a Boy Scout back in the days of dugout latrines, so I speak from bitter (and smelly) experience.
I’m with you, Tru. I just love these two to pieces. I’ve thought about doing more with them, but I think they work best in small doses, as flashbacks. I don’t know which moment in which strip I love better, this one, or this one.
Thank you for those kind words. I hope that everything settles down and I can get strips out faster. Unemployment may not be the greatest, but it does give one time to produce comics. Now that I’m gainfully employed it’s a little more difficult.
Right now I have a major storyline going (you’ll see very soon!) and, as usually happens, my muse is being standoffish. I don’t know why it always happens when I have to do a story, but there it is. Don’t worry, I’ll finish it one way or another. I do love posting twice a week. It feels like there’s more momentum to the story. Best of all, I get to read new comments twice as often!
Two great reasons to knuckle down and work through my block.
You could’ve made that sentence longer-William Faulkner is one of my favorite writers!
