Ha ha, Ms Turner. Poor choice of words indeed.
“Steppe Sisters, A Chuckleslovakian Romance” was one of those great 19th Century Victorian kids adventure yarns, a la G. A. Henty. Curiously enough, there weren’t a lot of books set in Chuckleslovakia written at that time. Of course, there wasn’t a Chuckleslovakia (thank you, evil Brungarians) at the time.
Looks like our Lyssa is just “being helpful” again. This can only end well, right? Also, this is not the first time Reade has fired her.
But before that, it’s going to lead to quite a surprise for someone about someone else. Join us next week for a peek into the past!
Steppe Sisters is one of my favorite Chuckslovakian books! It really is a great survey of the country’s culture and geography, as well as being a heartwarming tale. I hope Jacob enjoys it!
Also, come on, Reade! Bonding over an empty nest is just what you need!
I doff my chapeau to your reading choices, MJ. “Steppe Sisters” is a wonderful classic that is sadly out of print these days (at least in English). Not sure if Jacob will appreciate it, but Izzy sure would.
Reade doesn’t consider herself a “bonding kind of gal (except with Lyssa over irritating Eleanor, of course),” but hey, surprises happen with predictable regularity around here.
Reader may be worried about a new “friend” but Anya will enjoy a new friend, no doubt.
Yes. Reade isn’t much for hanging out with others, especially ones who…well, we’ll see next time. Anya however, just loves people, and I think she’d really like to be Reade’s friend.
And c’mon, this is Anya we’re talking about. What’s not to like?
You’re fired, again!
Had that said to me as well.
Fired twice by the same boss? Rehired and fired again?
