Ah, the fickleness of youth.
Poor Izzy. Another Summer Romance, down the tubes.
Then again, Summer is just beginning in Innesmount. Anything can happen.
Okay, so hey, I made a comic! This is only the third or fourth thing I’ve drawn since February, so I’m not promising anything. I’m just happy to have produced this. I hope you like it.
A big thanks to melaredblu for coming up with today’s title, and an even bigger thanks to melaredblu and Rulo for their unwavering support and encouragement.
And thank you for your patience! You are the best. I don’t know when there’ll be another comic, but I’ll try my best.
And I missed you.
Oh my word, I just did a double take. Just when I’m right on the verge of reaching the acceptance part of the grieving process, this happens. I swear, this is not good for my heart.
Poor Izzy indeed, too. You can see on Jacob’s face, she never even stood a chance.
Ha-ha, tricked you, suckah.
Yeah, poor Izzy. Well, they had fun at camp. And, like I said, who knows?
Thanks for reminding me about the comments, brother. Sheesh. Don’t ever stop being smarter than me.
EEEEEEEEEE! Do you know, I check this site almost EVERY DAY, just in case. (no pressure.)
I’m still kinda wondering what Edison was about to say on the last page. Oh, well, doesn’t matter. This page says an amazing amount for a page with zero dialog.
Post whatever you want, whenever you want. You know your fans love your stuff but have the patience (well, SOME patience) to let you follow your own schedule.
Are you involved in any new theater productions? How’s the bookstore doing? I regretfully admit that I finally just HAD to switch to an e-reader for my addiction. My personal bookpile fills six large bookcases, triple-stacked. I just haven’t got any more room to put new ones. So I know I’ve contributed to the loss of the physical bookstore, though I will say that they mostly left me first. When I started having to drive 20 miles to get to the closest bookstore, I finally gave up. (Bear in mind that Oahu is only 60 miles across at its widest, so to us, 20 miles is a long way. Plus we have only two choices of road anywhere.)
You live on Oahu? Lucky you!
Have I mentioned how glad I am that you’re sticking around? And what a knucklehead I’ve been? I’ve been checking the comments section, cleaning out the spam, and then, after I post the first comic in 4 months, I forget to check the comments. That’s why it took so long to see yours. Thank you Hjels, for reminding me.
Edison is the one saying: “…but she’s gained a couple of aunties.” in the third panel. It’s her voiceover.
No new plays for me. “Arsenic and Old Lace” knocked me out. I think it contributed to my artist’s block.
Did I tell you the story of “Arsenic?” I didn’t even want to be in the play. I was supposed to be Lt. Rooney. I would come in on page 85 and wrap the whole show up. One scene, in, out, badda-bing, thank you so much.
Then our lead got sick a week before we opened. So the director asked me if I could do it. Being the ham that I am, I said: “Sure!” So, we cancelled the first weekend, and I learned the part in two weeks. It was a blast, one of the best theatre experiences of my life.
But I’m done with that for now.* If I’m going to do anything creative, it’ll involve Groovy, Kinda.
And Tru, I don’t care how you read your books, as long as you’re reading. While I use my Kobo for drawing reference (transfer pictures from the computer to the Kobo, carry the Kobo to the drawing table) I can understand the appeal.
Besides, “real-world bookstores” (as the BBC calls us) are still doing okay.
Remember, it’s not “too many books,” it’s “not enough bookshelves.”
*Are you familiar with the term: “Famous Last Words?”
A GK page! full of feels!
You got me at the VW, naturally!
Welcome back!
He hee! Well, I wouldn’t be back if it wasn’t for you and melaredblu.
Now let’s see if I can take less then 3 months before I do another one!
Welcome back. We’ve missed you.
Not half as much as I missed you all.
Geez, I forget to check the “Your Kind Words” feature for ONE weekend, and look what happens! I WASTED 5 WHOLE DAYS! ><
Oh well, it's good to see you again, my friend. ^^
Poor Izzy is working at a disadvantage, and doesn't even know it. But I'm sure that Reade will have something to say about it–later. 🙂
Oh, Delta-v, Delta-v, Delta-v, it’s so good to see you here, ol’ chum. I’ve seen your comments on other sites, and I wanted to tell you: “Hey! Go to Groovy, Kinda! There’s a surprise!” But it just wasn’t the time nor the place.
I will just say how great it is to have posted a strip, and y’all might want to check back sometime next week…
1st of June, and summer wasn’t here over the pond when I woke. Cold, dull and damp! BUT NOW THE SUN IS SHINING – ‘COS YOU’RE BACK! I don’t care for how long or how infrequent, Charlie it’s good to have you back. Take it easy, enjoy the days and create when the muse or cravings hit you. Oh, and thanks for your little Robie sketch in the book. Now I have an original! Maybe summer has arrived.
Hey Chris! Thank you for those kind words.
Let’s hope Summer is here. I still haven’t gotten my mojo back (see today’s strip), but I remain ever hopeful. I just wish the muse and the energy would hit more often.
